A year ago I was in a very miserable place, I thought I was stuck in a horrible controlling relationship, had a job I despised and incredibly lonely.
I accepted the reality of the relationship and ended it back in January and so the quest for a new job and home began.
Last week the house I was moving into at the weekend fell through and the job I'd been offered had gone silent.
This week I viewed a really nice flat, so didn't think I'd get it, on Monday and had a job interview this morning after applying then bumping into, unbeknown to me, the company owner last week.
I only got both
So don't give up people, I was just about ready to throw my cards in, but the reality is you can't, no matter how dark it seems. Even if you can't see any light, it's there and as is said this time will pass. Your light can and will shine again. I really hope it does soon if you're struggling, I know how hard it can be. I am going through something similar.
I have been fighting depression and anxiety for a long time, but I have now been seen by the NHS mental health team. I am on antidepressants and have therapy starting soon. I have Persistent Depressive Disorder, means I am hardwired for depression, so I now have to learn to live with it.
I am also looking for a new place to live, and may have found something, just need the checks to go ok.
I am feeling a hell of a lot more positive about life, and will soon be looking for a new job, once the bloody DVLA gets my licence back to me.
If anyone is suffering, I can say that asking for help is not a bad thing. There are lots of resources out there and with a little help, and a push now and then you will be OK. |

Thanks everyone, I'm a bit of a miserable bugger sometimes and would never have said I'd sort two big problems out in the space of 3 days. It just never happens like that, but it only bloody did. So yeah, never give up, it does happen.
While I'm on a roll, who wants to suck my.........never mind, there's such a thing as pushing your luck ![](/icons/s/mrgreen.gif) |

Glad you've got yourself sorted starting my own course of e-CBT soon.
And no sorry, but if you know any Stockport lasses that will, let me know! ![](/icons/s/biggrin.gif) |

Its brilliant to hear of things working out well in the end OP and I'm glad you've got a great story to tell going from dark times to finding your feet and starting to enjoy life again.
Its an age old cliché but one I've learned so well is that time passes and things most often do get better when you least expect it.

Good to hear you're on the up fella and taking control. Things changed a lot for me when I finally took meds after shunning them for years because of a bad experience on them in my teens. They seemed to lift the fog and enabling me to put energy into living and getting in the right direction, not just existing day to day. Good luck on your journey dude ![](/icons/thumb_up.png) |

Well done, stay focussed!
The longer we stay in empty voids, the stronger the pull of the CBA cant-be-arsedness vacuum
We salute you sir!

The man Stan Bush said it best:
"You Were Born A Fighter
In The Blood A Mighty Warrior
Driven By Desire
Glory Calls, It's Waitn' For Ya
When They Try To Break You Down
You Can Take It, That Don't Shake You
When Your Back's Against The Wall
The Thrill Of The Fight's Got Ya Standin' Tall
Never Surrender
Never Say Die
You Got The Heart Of A Hero
Never Surrender
The Will To Survive
You're Standin' Strong In The Eye Of A Storm
Something Keeps Pushing You On
Never Surrender
Never Surrender
There's A Burnin' Passion
Deep Inside, A Silent Power
With A Quick Reaction
Lightening Strikes Your Fight For Honour
Winners Have A Price To Pay
You Can Taste It
That Don't Change It
You're Not There To Take The Fall
You'll Fight To The End And You'll Take It All
Never Surrender
Never Say Die
You Got The Heart Of A Hero
Never Surrender
Keep It Alive
You're Standin' Strong In The Eye Of A Storm
Something Keeps Pushing You On
Never Surrender
Never Surrender
You'll Never Stop 'Til You're Number One
It's Only A Matter Of Time
You'll Never Give Up
You'll Never Run
You're Layin' Your Life On The Line
Never Surrender (Never Surrender)
Never Say Die (Don't Stop)
(Never Surrender) Got The Will to Survive
Never Surrender (Don't Stop)
(Never Surrender) Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah
(Don't Stop) (Never Surrender)
(Don't Stop) (Never Surrender)
(Don't Stop) (Never Surrender)
(Don't Stop) (Never Surrender)"

Keep plugging away, over all it's been about 5-6 years since I started loosing myself, as it were. It's been pretty bleak at times, started with a Councillor, facing some truths, then meds. Keep your rudder straight and true and you will reach the shore. I hope you see it soon ![](/icons/rainbow.png) |

That is fantastic to hear OP
Life can change so much so quickly.
I lost my job last year and was forced to move to a smaller place and ended a relationship that was going nowhere.
Within the space of a month I found a lovely little place to live, I got offered a job, which I took reluctantly as it wasn’t what I wanted but then within the training period got offered the TL role and I joined FAB and within 2 weeks I started speaking to C….
It just shows that life can turn around so fast. Like you say, keep the glimmer of light going…
