I must have some sort of control or else I would definitely over indulge and mince pies are a weakness of mine. So I only buy 1 box for Christmas and I am already so looking forward to eating my first mince pie of the year.

I’ve only ever made them once. From scratch.
Other wise I would cheat with the jar of mince meat…..now they just sound horrible. Who called it mince meat?  |

I don't like them - I'm not keen on dried fruit and mincemeat - that said I have followed my late wife's tradition and made some plus 5 Christmas cakes for family members and friends even though I won't eat any of them! |

I had a mad moment mid September  … it might have involved eating a whole pack in a day 
So now I’m glaring NO! at them when I see them 
I can’t even let myself think about Nigellas recipe for Frangipane Mince Pies … now they’re the devil  |

We eat hot mince pies all year round with mashed potatoes peas and gravy. 
There is something about that cold-water pastry that makes mince pies & rhubarb pies delicious.

I had one once in an old folks home entertaining them with the cubs choir thinking it would be hot and beefy i was gutted to find a cold squidgy nasty mess in my gob and spat it up nasty business |
