"Home baked cakes and mince pies are always great at Christmas, I have made some mince pies which turned out good for a first attempt.
I have put some outdoor Christmas lights up for a couple too "
Well done, my pastry is a bit meh this time I think it was because I was making them around entertaining a 3 month old |

"I am abstaining for the moment, I've lost half stone and am determined to lose the other half this month "
I’m so jealous! I lost weight in pregnancy but think I’ve piled it all back on |

No baking for me until 23rd or else I’ll eat them. Will be mince pies and a chocolate or apple tree.
Small Christmas cake bar and smallest pudding already in the cupboard, shop bought, as no one else likes it |

It’s made with puff pastry and same concept as chocolate tree. I either cook the apples down to a purée with a little bit of cinnamon or leave small chunks and add in some raisins. Also done it with cherry pie filling It can be a gooey mess, but I like it. It’s great cold or hot. Either make a large one or multiple smaller ones. Smaller ones I don’t trust the branches just more like little individual pies shaped as trees
Look up chocolate pastry tree |

Not yet no! I'm waiting to start the festive baking the weekend following the MLS - this year I'm going to do a chocolate orange cheesecake, a berry meringue wreath and some linzer cookies (minus the deadly almonds). |

Just popping in to say a huge congratulations on the birth of your baby boy. Apologies for the lateness but as I noticed you on this thread I realised I hadn't congratulated you.
