Oh nooo...this is so painful!
Co codamol
I had a trapped nerve in my neck..resulting in a loss of grip ....sheer agony..pins and needles and numbness.
Nothing worked! Oitnif desperation I went swimming, which seemed at first to aggravate it. Slowly but surely the pain eased off and now has gone.
Good luck with yours x |

"Swimming and stretching works for me. Hot baths are good also look at electric heat pads. Ten's machine will help as well. Hope this helps "
Swimming, stretching and TENS are really good if done properly.
Heat is the worst fix ever. It helps to calm down for the moment, but it increases the inflammation, which is the one putting pressure on the nerve. It's helpful to use ice cubes in a towel to calm down the inflammation, not heat.
Most important is to use physio and exercises meant to improve the core muscles and the posture.
I struggled with horrible pain for years, losing weight and exercising is what helped me. |

The only thing that helped me was spinal surgery. I still have loss of sensation in my right leg and foot though. That's very I say find out the cause rather than just treat the symptoms, o know the vast majority of cases will be treatable with physio and pain killers but it's good to rule anything else out |

I have had a few bouts of it over the years. I found that nothing really properly cured it.. Other than time! haha.. But I did find that a hot bath, some painkillers.. and massage helped a lot.. at various points |

"Hello.
Any tips for treating this? "
Sadly, I've had a massive sciatica flare up recently. I couldn't walk last week. I've been resting when it's very painful, trying to carry on walking, using anti inflammatory stuff (ibruprofen and voltarol), doing some gentle stretching. The OT where I work showed me a brilliant stretch which has given me immediate relief when I've done it, I'll message you if you want to know how to do it. Plus I went for a myofascial release massage today which I found very helpful - it was awesome!
I hope you feel better soon, I feel your pain, mine has been dreadful, both sides at random times right down into my feet!

In a ball gown because that's how we roll in N. Devon |
Get checked out by a medical professional is absolutely number one.
Spinal surgery is the only thing that has helped mine, and I've had several now as it isn't something that will be fixed permanently.
However, a combination of ridiculous painkillers also helps. As does not sitting for long, avoiding putting pressure on the lower back, not standing still, not walking too much, when laying down on my back having my knees bent on a stack of pillows and my shoulders propped up on a rolled up mahoosive duvet (also takes pressure off the lower back), when laying on the side using a pillow between my legs to keep my hips a bit apart.
Oh. And lidocaine patches. They're a godsend.
No idea if any of that'll help, but hope so. |

To be fair it’s nowhere near as bad as that.
It’s easing this afternoon. I think sitting on a bike saddle most of Sunday started it. When I got off my bike I started to feel it. Struggled to stand straight. Maybe the cold bike ride triggered it.
I had a similar problem six months ago. Pilates helped. Thank you. |
