Ladies - advice on make up looks

I've worn the same make up look forever - black flicks, red lips. I'm getting my makeup done on Saturday for a party and I'm tempted to try something new. Do you think I should go for something different or too much of a gamble for a big night? I don't know what I'm wearing yet but it'll undoubtedly be black and I have dark hair.

The make-up artists do this day in, day out. I would go with what they think.

I’ve used an amazing place in Glasgow called Onyx, if they’re still open x

I'm a bit scared of leaving it up to them as I don't want full Towie , I usually end up toning it down after whatever I get as I love the idea of being fully made up but they can go a bit overboard sometimes. I'm just going to Mac but I'll check that place out for next time, thanks

Dark brown hair, green eyes. I'm a bit pale just now but will probably get a light tan.

Toying with the idea of a bit of sparkle for eyes, either gold or dark grey/black but feel like I'm getting on a bit to be playing with glitter looks ha

Green eyes suit purples and browns or so I've been told

I've got a load screenshotted but half the time I think it's actually their face I want and not their makeup, I could be getting some unrealistic expectations !

They do look cool but might be a bit out there for me, I'd worry I looked like I had heyfever . Your eyes are lovely!

As you are going on a night out. I’d definitely play with some glitter or shimmer eyeshadow. U can just pop some glitter afterwards In the inner corner of the eye right up to the middle of ur lid (or just the middle area), choose the colour depending on what you wear.

If you aren’t too comfortable with bright colours, maybe go for something neutral . So plenty of dark browns/warm purple

I’d say go for something different, they’ll know what will suit you too. I miss having a local Mac store as you can redeem products with the money you pay for the make up doing. X

It's always difficult going out of you'd comfort zone which is probably why you tone down whatever they've done before but resist the urge!

I love bright colours in my looks I have to say and love experimenting with make up.

I always go for glitter at Christmas. Coloured eyeshadow for the whole socket and glitter just on the lid so you get just a peek of it with your eyes open and flashes of it when you blink.

I even got given a bit of sparkle on the inner eyelid when I was in a wedding party recently so it can definitely be done in more subtle and sophisticated ways

Me too!

For me, make up is just like clothes - it needs to be appropriate for the occasion. Get into the attitude and create the look.

I wear lightest for work: good BB or CC cream and eyeliner, job done. For shopping or meeting the girls for lunch (day look), eyeshadow colour to match outfit and earrings. For evening sexy meets, I turn up the volume to max... Sculpting with bronzers and blushers, mahoosive false eyelashes, smokey eyes very red lips.

Watch Glow Up on BBC iPlayer... So inspired!
