I was just having a chat with my 5yr old granddaughter about how her day was, and that I'd seen the beginning of her Christmas list. And, if she's a good girl Father Christmas will soon be here.

So, with Christmas just around the corner I was wondering how many people were bribing their kids to be good!

I admit that I will be using good the old Santa as a bribe if required!

I don't think we bribed them with Santa but we definitely used bribes and their bad big brother, threats eg "if you don't behave you will lose X privileges/be grounded"

Oh god yeah. I even change my friends name to Santa on my phone. I’m always calling him and getting him to ring me to check who’s being good

I use it all year round. Santa can be the bad guy for 364 days because the fat bastard gets all the credit on the other 1

I don't. There is no elf watching... there is no naughty and nice concept. I want the joy.

here

Santa is always watching you know… pointing to the pir sensor in the corner of the room, with its red led light that conveniently illuminates at the wave of an arm….

Just be careful as they might start thinking you've lost the plot children have become very smart so best way is to educate let them understand what Christmas is how it began and how lucky they are... Making any child believe some fat guy climbing down a chimney is poor education

I do agree but think that their is an age where that's more appropriate.
