What’s going on your 10p* bag of sweets then?

* Gen Z’ers or anyone born after the 1970’s / 1980’s can increase in line with inflation…
So what’s going into your 10p mix up bag of sweets then?
I’m chucking in some Mojo’s (4 for 1p), some foam mushrooms, shrimps, cola bottles and a strawberry cane for starters. Maybe a fruit salad and a blackjack to make my tongue go all black.

Foam mushroom, banana, shrimp, black jack, those spearmint chewy sweets but I can't remember their name, chocolate cup, fizzy Cola bottle, white mice, refresher .

We got 4 for ½p"
Kids today will never believe we had a ½p coin AND that you get multiple sweets with it!
(mind you in my day it was only 2 for ½p.. I’m not *THAT* old  ) |

Mojos, large foam banana with one covered in chocolate, coconut mushroom, thin toffee chew, white mouse, double lolly, liquorice twig and a gobstopper.
Or swap for a bag of rainbow or lemon kali and a strawberry lolly |

I used to get between 2 and 4 pence a day for sweets , once even a measly one and a half pence  . I was always a bit envious of those kids that got a shiny 5p, the 5p mix was huge, there was a rumour once that a kid from the posh estate got 10p but we never saw it. |

I got 10p a shiny 10p!! But it was weekly, on a Friday so equivalent to 2p a day I guess. In the Summer I might be lucky enough to get a 1p ice pole as well during the week if it was particularly hot, although that meant ending up with a split side of my mouth where the plastic casing cut in to me. Swings and Roundabouts! |
