Rangers are playing Hibs in a Scottish League Cup semi final. I'm kind of dreading it. Not even sure who will be in the dugout for Rangers.

Derby

Derby, and what a bizarre season we’re having. Still not completely certain we’ll actually still be a club by the end of it, although it does look a bit more hopeful of late.

Hats have to go off to the thousands of Derby fans that are turning up every week home and away. Looks like another near sellout today in what is an absolute must win game against Peterborough.

As for Wayne Rooney, regardless of your allegiances isn’t it fantastic to see a man sticking by his beliefs and standing by the club. It would have been so easy for him to walk away as another big name did from Derby a few years ago. He will be forever a hero in Derby fans hearts.

Come on Mike Ashley, we’re a big club, get us out of here.

I follow quite a few Derby fans on Twitter and very few don’t want him, most are praying he’ll come in. As an outsider I think he did ok at Newcastle, obviously a Nufc fan might correct me. I’d love him at Derby. It’s dragging on and on though. I can’t go atm for health reasons so I’m hoping when I can there’s a club to go to.

He did horrific at Newcastle really. Bad decision after bad decision. Relegated from the premier league for the first and second time in our history, horrific treatment of club legends and Jonas after surviving testicular cancer. I could go on and on but I think in the position Derby are in he would be perfect. Rooney will not put up with him after this season though.

I think with a good director of football making the decisions he could be. We’re a long way from top 4 though. I’d take steady progression and a good cup run. Anything else is a bonus.

Derby

"Derby, and what a bizarre season we’re having.

I’m in the minority of Newcastle fans here but I think Mike Ashley will be brilliant for Derby. He’ll give you enough money to get back the premier league and keep you there although it’ll always be nervy. Short to mid term there probably isn’t a better owner for you.

So how do you feel about Eddie Howe? Is he the man to spend the millions and put Newcastle top four?

I think with a good director of football making the decisions he could be. We’re a long way from top 4 though. I’d take steady progression and a good cup run. Anything else is a bonus."

Guess it’s similar to Derby, stay in the division this season then move on next. I think you will but not sure about us. Best of luck

After dismantling Borussia Dortmund in midweek we don’t play until tomorrow

Hopefully Motherwell try to play open football and not stick a goalie and 10 defenders on the park all standing behind the keeper like Dundee Utd did last week.

The most confusing thing about that decision is they’ve awarded a corner. VAR checked it so must have deemed that Chalobah got the ball.

I get why it wasn’t but if elbowing a jumping 6’7” man in the face isn’t dangerous play and having the arm in an unnatural position then I don’t know what is.

Wait for the documentary in about 10 years. All will become clear!!

Also agree with you on the elbow. It’s foul play, endangering an opponent possibly other things too. Wouldn’t have had any objections to that being a red card.
