We're off to London for the afternoon and early evening on the 5th December and neither of has ever seen the Christmas lights.

Any recommendations for where to go?

East London

Covent Garden.

Regent Street.

Oxford Street.

Carnaby Street.

I found some on side streets off Oxford Street a few years ago. Think it was Bond Street.

There should be a tree in Trafalgar Square too.

The last time I went it wasn't there for some reason.

I also thought the Christmas markets along the South Bank were a bit of a let down, but they are great if you like food

On a mooch

On top of those already mentioned you also have a Christmas tree (river side) of st Paul’s; the strand, pall mall, haymarket, Jermyn street, carnaby street, old Bond Street, seven dials, Sloane Square. Or if out near Notting Hill Gate check out the Churchill Arms

That should tire you out

If if find yourself near tower, walk over the bridge and follow the river towards town for light displays along the way to London Bridge / borough market.

Except St. Paul’s and Notting Hill Gate the rest are on a small walking tour one area to the next, it’s just mapping it out
