First Defence
Take a snort when you first feel the tingle up your nose and it is great stuff.
Disclaimer: it makes you feel like shit for a few hours the first time you use it but it does the job and gets easier on subsequent uses |

There are no remedies, all viruses are a self limiting disease (unless a secondary infection takes hold) and they get better on their own but it's possible to alleviate the symptoms whilst that happens. |

Rasberry vinegar, nob of butter, honey.
Coke in a pan, whole spring onion, peeled ginger and then chop 3 or 4 very thin slices. Then mash up with a spoon or fork and add to the pan. Boil for a few minutes. Sieve spring onion and ginger. Drink the left over liquid. Oh, caveat here - you kitchen will stink! Get over it & knock back yer girl scout.... It's a Cantonese work around.
It depends whether you have a hot, dry cold or a cold cold......
If I have a hot, followed by dry cough then I go to an Asian supermarket or Amazon to have Fufang Banlangen Keli, 15 Individual Sachets. This will reduce the heat. Not all at once! perhaps one or two in a day.
However, if I have a cold, cold where I'm cold (shivering), sneezing, runny nose then ginger sachets. Again from Amazon or an Asian supermarket. |

Echinacea drops work very well, it’s better taken prior to becoming ill, more to build up your immunity but they will also help you get over an illness quicker if taken during. You can get a tablet form too but I personally find the liquid drops to be more effective. |
