Can you Rave at 56 years old?
Jump to: Newest in thread
Is there anywhere you can GO to relive those glories years off being losted in the music on a dance floor with everyone else in the same zone.
At our age?
Remember when you where 21 and you seen a 50+ on the dance floor it just didn't look right, lol but now I have araved! Lol
And want to judge julies for one last weekend!
Is their anyone else who would go? |

Think if that’s what you grew up with then it’s in your soul and absolutely should go. I still go to raves. I’m going to one next Friday actually. Been to Tomorrowland, hideout festival, hyperspace in Budapest, Awakenings, Fabric, Drumcode, Q club, helter skelter techno drome and many many more. I love it. I don’t do pub’s just raves. |

Yeah, loads of places but you have to keep your ear to the ground.
Live in Cornwall and while I don't go out anywhere as near as much as I used to, I've ended up at a couple of great events. Just great music and a great crowd. Only thing is it takes me about 3 days to recover. |

I remember when the rave scene first started, random field somewhere, you'd hear about it from your mate in the car park where we all hang around at in in our cars, then pile in as few cars as possible and off we go to dance until the Rozzers rocked up to move us along |

Near Wells |
I went to Pop World in Bristol last weekend, I'd never even heard of it before then.
I really enjoyed and had a great time. They played quite a lot of 80's & 90's so I knew the music.
Slightly older clientele, generally people in their 30's and 40's and a few younger as well.
I danced all night with a few young people, a good time had by all.

I really miss a good night our dancing for hours on end. It's a shame that as you get older the opportunity to dance lessens.
The only place I dance now is at birthday parties and weddings.
I dance in my house of course but that's different. |

I actually work in “the rave scene” and have spoken about this with a few people over the years. I reckon there needs to be an Over 40s rave brand, as there are plenty of people who want to be out “Avin’ it” but not feel like they’re the oldest person in the room.
Held in a nice venue, not too scummy, as we’re older and have more refined tastes now.
And not just old school tunes all night either.
I’m sure it could work as a regular thing but never seen it, as pretty much all promoters ignore the older age bracket. Which is strange as they’re likely to have more disposable cash.
If I manage to convince someone to do it or hear of anything then I’ll be sure to shout you. |

Age certainly wouldn't stop me. It has already been said, you only live once. I would also add, they don't make E Type Zimmer frames, and that's like to be our final mode of transport. So if it feels good do it, and do it now while you can. |

There is FB group which is pretty much what you describe. An online radio organised by amateur DJs who do it for the love of music rather than commercial reasons. They also organise events where the crowd is mainly our generation. |

Sounds great but would also be lovely to have something with bigger name DJs and clubs/promoters involved.
Southport Weekender is kinda like that. |

"As long as I can wear sensible shoes. "
Yes. Can’t wear high heels to a rave. I’ve got some lovely calf length chunky black boots that look wicked with every outfit and they are comfy as marshmallows. |

OP never let your age stop you doing something you enjoy. If you want to go to a rave bloody well go
Raves are not my thing but I love to dance and couldn't care less if I happen to be older than everyone else on the dancefloor. |
