Ooh right, I’m going to play this properly now it’s 2021 and all that.

(For public consumption) ooh no, that’s so sexist and outdated and inappropriate in today’s environment. In fact it was NEVER acceptable!

(Privately) *mental note to set RECORD to watch later!*

Haven’t had a television for years and never regretted it, now you say they are rerunning Benny Hill, mmm, maybe I was a bit hasty getting rid of it.

Used to luv watching Benny.

Scantily clad women, 1970’s innuendo and a good dollop of stereotyping, what’s not to luv.

It was good slapstick but the spoken parts weren't very funny. I am a bit fed up with people naking old British shows some sort of icons of anti-wokeism or whatever claptrap they are on about. Just shut up and enjoy the speed-up chases for what they are, silly slapstick comedy.

The scenes with the boozy tramp sleeping on the bench in front of the advertising board, where the dancer in that advert comes to life.

I haven't heard The Benny Hill Show theme tune Yakety Sax, for years.

Benny, in real life, was not unlike the character he portrayed in the original Italian Job movie from 1969.

He was very fond of..

......., according to some of the young ladies whom he chased around each week.

It is hard to believe that he is gone almost 30 years; his style of humour was distinctly of its time, but fondly remembered.

Benny Hill will be back on That's TV Gold, which will be rebranded as That's TV Christmas for the festive season.

Benny with the Yakety Sax theme, and scantily clad women being speedily chased through a park is non PC but still brings a smile; what was the name of the Belfast guy whom he used to repeatedly smack around the head?

Benny is reputedly to have enjoyed a little hand relief after filming!

Enjoyed watching him when I was growing up, nice chance to see sexy ladies.

Didnt find him funny at all.

The pc brigade killed him off and he ended up dying a lonely man by himself.

Recorded it for kids (adults now) to watch when we get together at Christmas to give them some culture lessons...

They love looking at how "primitive " we as a nation were back in the day.

91 on Freeview, 187 on Sky. It's called something like TV Gold, which could be a username. The name has been changed for Christmas to Xmas Hits or something similar.

Ask Ben Elton and the other alternative comedians, who went against the jokes that Stan Boardman?Bernard Manning et al would tell.

Freeview 91 isn't available on the transmitter we're on - which is a pity, as although I never found BH particularly funny, I always loved The Kenny Everett Video Show which the TV guide shows has been playing all afternoon...

....due in no small part to a certain dance troupe who often performed in little more than lingerie, stockings and heels...

Did you know Hot Gossip was formed by and choreographed by Arlene Phillips - who also designed their outfits too?

Strictly would have had a higher male audience if she'd been in charge of costumes instead of being a judge!

Oh Benny is back in fashion is he? Considering that he's from the same era as Alf Garnett before political correctness was invented, it should be more fun reading the tweets about the show, than actually watching it, as half the world and their dog get wound up like coil springs by the comedy from a bygone era.

I watched this morning it and other than a few belly laughs, found it pretty pathetic if I'm honest.

I kinda hate woke-ness and the whole culture of PC-ness, but it just isn't that funny. The misogyny and obvious sexist scenes were clearly the draw back in the day, but I'm glad as a society we've moved on from that.

Not too sure of the split of sexes who liked this back then but I'd image it was lots more males than females

For the few days, I have been deleting old unwanted unwatched material from my Humax system, to make room for Benny.

His style of humour is outdated, non-PC, and crass; but it still makes me smile. The ladies he had working with him were stunners; and he was a real craftsman who was a perfectionist, like Ken Dodd. Roll on Yakety Sax, his theme tune!
