once again i have the urge for something from the chippy, but i know it's just a rip off and the food is nasty for the price. But still i have to go out at 5-ish you just know i'm hitting the chippy.
last time i got two fish and chips and it came to just over 16 quid, i could go the chinky for the same money.
For that money i want double cooked chips and crispy batter, by the time you get it home it's just a sticky mess.
got the urge for a kebab thank fuck i'm on statins.
Anyone else think chip shops are well past their best. other than the one in Staiths yorkshire i haven't found a decent chippy in years. |

Dammit you have just made me hungry!
Fish supper with a tub of curry! Baulked at that when an old work mate said it was his meal of choice from the chippy but after trying it myself it was great. Demolish one every so often |

"I have chippy once every few years. But today, yes, yes I could.
I won't, but I wouldn't turn it down "
Thinly vailed someone run to the chipper for me |

"Ho's in Church Crookham is pretty damn good.
Ate from there when working on a construction job in Fleet.
And a few pints in the Prince of Wales."
I have had a fight or two in the PoW |

It seemed safer than the pubs in Aldershot where we were staying. |

"Around here cod is only a few quid and large chips for a couple of quid and by large I mean a carrier bag portion "
Lucky you they seem to price on the size of the fish near me and they use fillets as opposed to loin. more meat on a fairground goldfish. |

The cod is enough for 2 people, although I prefer having my own |

The chippy closest to me is a total hit or miss. You either get one of the best you've ever had or dry nasty crap.
Usually get a Chinese or an Indian for that reason. |

I love fish and chips I’d say they are reasonably priced. I look at it like, I don’t have them everyday or every week and I can’t make them at home so it’s a nice treat |

The battered cod you can buy in shops and stick in oven is actually pretty good |

Whenever I watch this episode of Beard meets Food I want cod and chips, but I know the cod around here is nothing like the sexy cod in this video.
My stomach is grumbling watching him stuff the thick wadge of cod into his mouth

It's LUSH

I'm a scrooge with chippies, I can't justify paying about 2.50 for the equivalent of 1 large potato made into chips with no colour (and no flavour) by an "award winning" chippy.

"It's interesting to observe that the OP's use of the term 'chinky' seems to be widely admissible on here. "
Oh please i'm talking about food not who cooks it, people are offended far too easy these days.
i rarely moderate my everyday language in any situation i don't see why i should to be fair. if the site owners wish to alter or remove, that's ok with me, but i am talking about a plate of food. |

Living in a coastal town with a huge fishing port just around the corner we are blessed with super fresh fish.
I love Cod, Chips and Curry sauce.
In Paignton there is a chippy that does these thick battered chips and they are so greasy but are amazingggg!!
Sucker for a battered sausage too NOM |
