One for the techies, help please

If someone sends me a video or pic on kik and I want to download it, I click on the tick top right corner. Now presumably they get stored in my gallery (they used to) but they're not there now. Cant find anywhere on my phone. Any suggestions?

There's normally a seprate kik folder in your libraty? What phone do you use?

me too! its a recent problem, all of a sudden just stopped saving in gallery

not on my phone there isnt. only options are pictures, albums and stories. ive checked in there and nowt!

Should be in a kik folder if not maybe you have hidden the folder in the options tab on gallery there will be an option for hidden folders

no kik folder in gallery at all and no hidden folders.

only 8 options, videos, faves, recent, suggestions, locations, shared albums, recycle bin and settings. ive gone into every option and i cant see them.

last resort i assume would be delete gallery and reinstall, see if that helps?

maybe my phone is too old as i dont have those options.

in "internal storage" i only have:

DCIM, download, music, notifications and pictures.

no mention android or kik

Hmm. One last suggestiom.

Go on your samsung internet browser go to settings, sites amd downloads, click where it says save downloaded files to.

Yep, it says:

device/download/

clicked on it and theyre not in there.

maybe my service provider could come up with suggestions as im completely stumped as to why this is happening.

I just tested it. Also says saved, but then doesn't show up anywhere. No Kik folder. They're supposedly supposed to get saved in your dcim folder, but the image is not there that I can see.

The option to save the same image is gone now apparently as it's already been saved.

No don't think so as we have different phones. I have a Google pixl. Probably kik has gremlins!

Search by date it was added, if you don't know thew name of the file, or its format.

Think its a kik issue, somone said they couldnt download a picture the other i had sent

Ok, sounds like it could be kik then. Ive literally checked everywhere and dont have an kik folders but my phone is quite old

Open app, go to library bottom right hand side.

This is correct and works

Open the "My files" app which maybe in the "Samsung" group. I forgot it was in there tbh

File path is /My files/Internal Storage/Android/data/kik.android/files/kik

You may have to dig about in storage but for me it was

Settings/storage/internal storage/files

This is correct and works

Open the "My files" app which maybe in the "Samsung" group. I forgot it was in there tbh

File path is /My files/Internal Storage/Android/data/kik.android/files/kik"

Nope I dont have that.

Only have:

my files/internal storage then:

pictures, notifications, music, downlaod, DCIM.

NO ANDROID OPTION

You can download a file viewing app from store that may show it I use one called Filed

I think I'm going to give up for tonight. I'll get in touch with my service provider, see if they've got any suggestions. Thank you for trying to help me

You should see FILE in list then Android.

If you not seeing these they may de hidden by Samsung. Try a file manager from store. I use FILE

Service provider probably won't help as it's a phone and 3rd party app issue not a service they provide.

File app may be best way to go

Check photo gallery as this holds files for apps if you have synchronisation between the two
