I agree I've only ever bought 1 butter squash and my goodness what a nightmare to cut in half..It has put me off getting another one.. |

Sideways on the chopping board. Cut off the neck. Stand it up and cut through the middle. If too tough, get the knife stuck, lift it and smash it onto the chopping board. Keep hand well away or flat on top of knife. |
