I’ve woken up with a touch of the Victor Meldrews so I’m in a mood for a grumble.
Why is it that society today has to make a thing out of everything.
Halloween parties seem to start in September Bonfires are being held the week before and the week after Bonfire night.
Christmas adverts and the like were before Halloween this year, before you know it advent calendars will be three months long.
I saw kids last weekend queuing to meet Santa, they’ll be climbing the walls before the Christmas holidays.
I can assure you that I do not feel that I ever missed out as a kid by waiting until the 31st October to dress up like a ghoul and carve a swede because we couldn’t get pumpkins and actually and this is massive, actually look forward to the Christmas period starting when the week before we broke up for the school Christmas holidays.
It’s all just consumerism and big business convincing you you can’t miss out so they get your cash.
Anyway I bet get off, I’ve got to go and make an Easter bonnet and get down Stonehenge so I can pretend I’m a spiritual person at the summer solstice.  |
