He shot and killed 2 BLM protestors and wounded another. If he walks free, there will be rioting on an unprecedented scale. I hope the court makes the right decision. |

He shot and killed 3 rioters, all of whom had criminal backgrounds and did it in self defense. End of.
The real question is why would a 17 year old need to be armed anywhere at night with a gun. If authorities ad cracked down on the violent rioting and looting the days before this wouldn't have happened. |

He will walk
There are going to be appeals because of the way this judge has basically been grandstanding all throughout the trial
He has had one foot on the scale all through this |

He crossed state lines… 40 minutes there… hand a gun that it was illegal to have in Wisconsin because you have to be 18 to have a permit
If you are running into something you know is dangerous.. that’s not self defence |

The issue is there has been a lot of media and political manipulation with this story.
the real story is that in his home state the law is he can’t own a gun until 18, since he was only 17 he kept his firearm at his friends house in the next state where the law is 17 so technically he has not broken any laws and therefore the charge of carrying a weapon was dropped. Also he has lots of close family and a lot of friends in Kenosha and he was in fact asked to go by someone he knew to watch over the car lot where it all kicked off so he didn’t just go there for a fight as various media outlets said. He did not kill any BLM supporters. The riots started out as a BLM protest but as the days went on all the criminals joined in just looking for a fight. All of the people Kyle shot were known criminals and the first of which was a violent child abuser who has recently been released from detention and was recorded as saying he was out to cause hassle before the Kyle situation arose and was even in the process of trying to set cars on fire in the car lot. I do think Kyle is a bit of an idiot for carrying a weapon about which obviously made him a target for rioters looking for trouble. Problem is being an idiot is not a crime and and Kyle broke no laws by having his weapon. |

At most he can be charged with other offenses but not murder. The prosecution cannot prove there was deliberate intent and video evidence clearly shows that regardless of everything else, it was an act of self defense.
Again, if the authorities had maintained order the nights before, citizens would not have been compelled to intervene themselves.
Even if he is acquitted, which looks likely, his life is ruined anyway. People who want him nailed purely for ideological reasons will never stop hounding him. |

His Dad also lives in kenosha, he works in kenosha
It was completly legal for him to carry the gun as its not an SBR. Thats why the charge associated with that has been dropped a couple of days ago |

Not quite the reason the carry a weapon charged was dropped….
Where the state law in Wisconsin is that you have to be 18 to have a gun…. There is an older law that states you are allowed to have a rifle or double barrel gun at 16 for the purpose of hunting with supervised consent
What his defence argument was, was the type of gun he had…. An AR-15, should be declared as a rifle under the terms of the law that says it’s needed to be over a certain length
An AR-15 has never been a hunting weapon…… even it’s makers concede that
He wasn’t going hunting that night…..
But because it was in the permitted length the judge agreed with the defence argument to have that charge tossed out |

You've got to question a society that allows people, never mind a child, 'peacefully protesting' to carry firearms whilst doing so, but that's just 'Merca. However, most of this is on video and in each instance he was under threat. First from a mob that threatened to overwhelm him. Second he was under attack from and had been struck by the second 'victim'. Third he was still being chased by a mob as he tried to leave the area and ended up on the ground, surrounded by hostile people. His third 'victim' was standing over Rittenhouse pointing his own gun at him when Rittenhouse shot him in the arm.
Whilst the general situation is screwed up, I can see why he's pleading self defence. The aftermath will blow up regardless of the result. |

The most interesting thing is that if they have been told in the instructions was that if they were to find him not guilty of murder… they are allowed to consider lesser connected charges…..
So I don’t think he will be found guilty of murder, but I am thinking of some sort of compromise akin reckless endangerment
Anyway… I think the more interesting case is the Ahmaud arbury case and how the defence are trying to get this chucked out is a mistrial… the race tactic the defence is using is astonishing |

Exactly its not an SBR (Short Barreled Rifle) so he is allowed to carry it. Exactly he never broke any laws. So whats the problem?
What are you on about an AR-15 not being a hunting weapon? You can use it for hunting if you want to. 5.56x45mm is quite adequate for small to medium quarry. Plus AR-15s can be chambered in multiple calibres from .22 to.50 Beowulf. An AR-15 is a RIFLE. Not an Assault Rifle though as media like to claim. Its is functionaly no different to any other self loading rifle except for their possible use of different gas systems
You dont want to be getting into this debate with someone who has an actual understanding of firearms
From Wikipedia
Many hunters prefer using AR-15 style rifles because of their versatility, accuracy, wide variety of available features, and wide variety of calibers (see below).[73] Collapsible stocks are convenient for hunters who pack their rifles into remote hunting locations or for length of pull adjustments to fit any sized hunter.[74] Construction with lightweight polymers and corrosion-resistant alloys makes these rifles preferred for hunting in moist environments with less concern about rusting or warping wood stocks. Positioning of the AR-15 safety is an improvement over traditional bolt action hunting rifles. Many states require hunters to use reduced-capacity magazines.[75] If a hunter misses with a first shot, the self-loading feature enables rapid follow-up shots against dangerous animals like feral pigs or rapidly moving animals like jackrabbits.[73] Hunters shooting larger game animals often use upper receivers and barrels adapted for larger cartridges or heavier bullets. Several states prohibit the use of .22 caliber cartridges like the .223 Remington on large game

"You have to be 21 to buy a beer, but can own a gun a 17. "
Yep, my son had a work trip to las Vegas. He was under 21 at the time, so whilst his colleagues went to a casino, he went to a gun range and hired handguns, rifles, machine guns for an afternoon. |

It's not helped by the acronym 'AR' which a hysterical anti-gun lobby and media constantly refer to as Assault Rifle. It actually stands for Armalite Rifle, from the first company that made them. The whole military/hunting rifle argument is so much smoke and mirrors. Whilst some are clearly built for a specific purpose, most are usable for either. Plenty of 'hunting rifles' are derived from military types and vice versa. their is little to choose between a well sorted hunting rifle and a 'Sniper Rifle', and again, many of these types are used in purely target disciplines, so it's all bollocks. |

He went with the intention of supplying medical aid. He was attacked after putting out a fire started by one of the people killed.
If he went with the intention to get into trouble why did he give away his plate carrier beefore he went? |

It’s not until you actually really look into the proper facts. Most of the stuff that was “seen on the news” “Read on Facebook” or “heard on the radio” are manipulated lies by the media, Once you read the true facts it may change the opinions of someone who deliberately went looking for a fight. Maybe he was an idiot for putting himself in the situation but being an idiot isn’t a crime so he had just as much right to be there as anyone else. Just because he was there I don’t believe he deserved to be attacked. and I’m pretty sure if you ever found yourself in a similar position you wouldn’t stand by and let someone cave your face in or blow your brains out because it was your fault your there so you must deserve it. He was attacked and he defended himself |

"Cannot believe there are people defending him. Genuinely thought this would be one of those threads that everyone agreed on.
Yeah he should of just let the crazy peado beat him to death with his own rifle instead. Or have his brains smeared over a skate board? Or take a bullet to the face?
I would have simply, not taken my gun to riot with the express intention of playing vigilante. But that’s just me personally. Hope he gets {redacted} in prison as he rots there for life

So we are going to victim blame? Ok. Cool cool cool
Threating somones life then attacking somone then being shot in self defense doesnt make you the victim
Get a grip
For example in this country was that burgeler that was stabbed by an old man after invading his house. Is he a victim too?
Ahhh the old “whataboutery”. Shock horror, different things are different. If he doesn’t go looking to play vigilante, he doesn’t kill people. It’s that simple. His crocodile tears don’t fool me. Blokes a cunt and reaping what he sowed

the second part is a question for you to answer as it is similar. Under your logic the burgler woulld be the victim. But you cant say that because it will make you look bad. And morally you know thats wrong. Plus at trial it was decided he acted legally

If he went with the intention to get into trouble why did he give away his plate carrier beefore he went?"
I would then argue why did he not give himself up straight away… drive back across across state lines and only give himself up 2 days later….
And also, if the intention was to supply medical aid.. and that Wisconsin law said the gun used could only be used by someone of his age for the purpose of hunting .. then the judge was wrong to throw out the possession charges …
Or what was he hunting in the mean streets of Kenosha…

Not in this trial.. one of the very first things the judge ruled on in this matter was the prosecution was not allowed to used the word “victim” in front of the jury to describe the people that were killed…. |

Outcomes are the same.
Somone attacked somone. Trying to grab a rifle from an owner is classed an attack
The aggressor gets killed
But you are trying to claim the aggressor is the victim. If you get attacked in the street i do hope you just let them kick your face in. Because you know they will be the victim if you defend yourself..
What does the fact it was a different state matter. They have the freedom to assemble and cross state lines if he wants. He works in Kenosha. Half his family including father live in Kenosha. Its like me going to Buckinghamshire which i do everyday.. Its not like he travelled accross the country to some place he has no ties with at all. Even if it was, he is alllowed to if he wants. |

The real question is why would a 17 year old need to be armed anywhere at night with a gun. If authorities ad cracked down on the violent rioting and looting the days before this wouldn't have happened.
He crossed state lines… 40 minutes there… hand a gun that it was illegal to have in Wisconsin because you have to be 18 to have a permit
If you are running into something you know is dangerous.. that’s not self defence "
Exactly this, he went out hunting people. Anyone who believes he acted in self defence is utterly naive and/or stupid |

Judging by the videos, I believe it.
Got rushed by a crowd. He was attacked and defended himself. What he did was legally send defence
I agree though that he was looking for trouble. Just turns out trouble found him and was not only out gunned but they were on the wrong side of the law |

Everyone on the streets was looking for trouble, regardless of which side they claim to support. The politics will likely override the law. If he is found not guilty, there will be massive riots. If he is found guilty, there will be smaller riots.
In time, it will happen all over again, somewhere else. |

Well Banta doesn’t like to get into too many political debates but the way this has played out on social media has been very much a left wing v right ring debate, one side can only see the evidence that proves his guilt, the other can only see the evidence that proves his innocence. Not long now before a decision is reached and whatever the outcome the divisions will only get deeper. Which the media will rejoice at. Ho! Ho! Ho! |

"How many other people were killed in thid specific riot? And by who?"
Luckily no one else was killed. Houses, bussinness and livlihoods burnt to the ground though. Mainly by white people unnder the banner of "BLM" after the Jakob Blake shooting by police after a sexual assault call from his gf, he then tried to grab a knife from his car and was shot by police. |

So this was the only guy who felt so threatened by the rioters that his only line of defence was to fatally shoot people? Is this proportional force? |

First guy had already threatened to kill Kyle then chased him and tried to grab his rifle after kyle had tried to put a fire out.
Second guy hit Kyle multiple times with a skateboard and was trying to hit him in the head. Essentially using it as a weapon like a mace. One of the hits is what made Kyle stumble and fall from memory of the timeline.
Third guy (the one who wasnt killed)pulled a pistol on kyle while he was on the ground and by his own admission in court pointed it at Kyle before he was shot in the arm
All is self defense

He did try and give himself up to the police on the night and was told to go away. He then handed himself in at a police station the next morning, not 2 days later
How self important is that? You are telling a Judge in a country you dont understand the laws of, the he has practiced law in for 50 years is wrong.

That knife bit isn’t quite true.. he reached into his car.. and then whilst walking away from both the car and the cop, the cop shot him 7 times in the back leaving him paralysed from the waist down…
Jacob Blake was not charged with any crime in relation, and the other charges he had against him at the time were also dropped… |

You are missing out some context and also wrong
He had a knife
"he prosecutor who oversaw the investigation said that Blake admitted to holding a knife and that officers and witnesses stated that Blake turned towards officer Sheskey with the knife immediately before the shooting. Blake later admitted that he "wasn't thinking clearly" and picked up a knife during the altercation, although he denied having the intent to use it."
He was also suspected to be in the process of taking a child
"Sheskey saw Blake put a child in the vehicle as he arrived, and heard a woman say, "He's got my kid. He's got my keys"; Sheskey shot Blake believing he was attempting to take a child in the backseat of the vehicle he was entering"
He was charged with crimes though and got put on probation. The only reason he was not charged with some was because of a plea deal
"On September 4, 2020, Blake pleaded not guilty to the July sexual assault charge, appearing via Zoom from his hospital bed. In November 2020, Blake reached a deal with the prosecution where the charges of sexual assault were dropped in return for him pleading guilty to misdemeanor disorderly conduct. He was sentenced to two years of probation"
On January 5, 2021, Kenosha County District Attorney Michael Graveley, the top prosecutor in the county, declined to bring charges against Police Officer Rusten Sheskey. He said that investigators had reviewed 40 hours of video and hundreds of pages of police reports before making the decision |

I blame most of it down to ignorance
They have heard stuff on BBC/SKY/CNN then not bothered to actaully look into what happened. Same thing happens with shooting involving the police. The story is twisted to fit a certain narrative. Just as in earlier in thread when i corrected statements about the Jakob Blake case that was the touch paper for what happened. Or even the Derek Chauvin case been labelled as a racist attack, when he had no prior evidence of being an actual racist
Either that or they stay willfully ignorant because its easier than admitting you may have been wrong. |

You made no point
Thats what happens in a place where you attack someone who has the right to self defense and too stand their ground.
Aslo he wasnt the only one "that pulled a trigger" Just as kyle shot the first guy who tried to grab his rifle multiple shots went of into the sky from a pistol calibre weapon |

Which is his right to do so. So you have no point.
I dont see you make the same point about the 3rd guy that was shot in the arm the moment before he was about to execute Kyle
Or the multple pistol discharges that happened the moment the 1st guy tried to grab his rifle
I dont understand how people dont get it. It was quite obvious self defense |

"Out of the mass riots that lasted around 9 days there were only 2 people killed. He was the one that pulled the trigger.
You made no point
Thats what happens in a place where you attack someone who has the right to self defense and too stand their ground.
Aslo he wasnt the only one "that pulled a trigger" Just as kyle shot the first guy who tried to grab his rifle multiple shots went of into the sky from a pistol calibre weapon" so nobody else had to defend themselves in 9 days of rioting? Just poor wee Kyle? |

Didn't he travel cross state specifically to run in to a riot and take a gun with him? |

He lives with his Mum in wisconson. His dad and other half of faimly live in Kenosha. Kyle works in Kenosha. As i said before its like me going to Buckinghamshire from my house. Not that it even matters as its not illegal to cross state lines and he never crossed state lines with his rifle. Anyway none of you have even mentioned about rioters crossing state lines in the same way to turn up and set things on fire, which is interesting.
He then with group of others stood outside a car showroom to protect it that night as the other one had been burnt down the night before. He is a trained lifegaurd and part trained EMT. His reasoning to be there was to provide medical aid which was proven.
He tried to put a fire out. At that point the first attacker. Who had already said he was going to kill kyle if he saw him on is own, who was seen behaving eratically with weapons throughout the night and was onnly released from a mental institution the night before.
Chased Kyle and tried to grab his rifle annd got shot. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
As kyle tried to move back towwards the police lines he was attacked by the 2nd guy with a skateboard using it as a weapon like a mace. Kyle was hit twice before the attacker was shot.
Kyle the stumbled and fell after, in his testomony he said he stumbled because of the hits to his head and neck. At that point the 3rd guy pointed a pistol directly at kyles face. Kyle shot first and hit him in the arm
I have already said this to you in a previous reply. Each case is self defence

Those rioters are not on trial or at least it isn't that case that is the topic of this thread therefore its irrelevant wether or not we have discussed their behaviour.
I've never said whether or not he should be convicted. Just putting thoughts out there. You seem heavily invested in this case.
Were there witnesses to the death threats made by the first man? Did he have a weapon at the time? How did his first victim attack him? You don't say. just that he allegedly behaved erratically earlier with weapons.
Is shooting someone armed with a skateboard proportional force?
Just questions. I have no affect on the outcome of this trial and no vested interest in it. Just passing time on the forums. |

The first guy tried to grab kyles rifle lol. Should he of just let him? And yes there is evidence of what i have said. Its all come out in court. Let alone the video evidence that in itself shows self defence. Plus the FBI drone footage that appeared that people didnt even know existed
Hitting somone in the head with anything is grounds for self defense. You aware that i could quite easily kill you very quickly by striking you in the head with a skateboard? Let alone being knocked unconcious while you have a baying mob after you
I am invested in this case yes, because i donnt want to see kids life ruined forever over a charge that is being brought forward on poliitical grounds.
Instead of asking me i recommend you look into it yourself if you have these questions |

I'm not ignorant, I'm questioning. It's clear where you fall on this situation but isn't it prudent to ask questions? Especially of lawyers paid big bucks to get the best result for their clients. It's not unimaginable for defence lawyers to engage in smoke and dagger tactics now, is it?
Critical thinking and all that. |

If you had been following the case you would know its the prosecution that is trying the dodgy tactics and have been warned several times by the judge because of their behaviour.
Including flagging the Jury with a rifle with his finger on the trigger while have the audacioty to talk about gun safety
He tried to blame the shooting on Call of Duty ffs
He also doesnt understand how hollowpoints work while trying to say Kyle should of used them over "FMJ" because of over penetration |

Either that or they stay willfully ignorant because its easier than admitting you may have been wrong."
Woah!!
The 12 people of the jury found him guilty
The judge in the case agreed with the prosecution thought there was racial intent which was proven which is why the hate crime calculator was added on…. |

Chauvin was also a poltical motivated case. They had to say it was a racially motivated attack or there would of been murder. There was people filming the jury ffs
Manslaughter for me was the fair verdict. He had no history of anything to do with race.
Not everything is racism just because you want it to be

"Cannot believe there are people defending him. Genuinely thought this would be one of those threads that everyone agreed on.
Yeah he should of just let the crazy peado beat him to death with his own rifle instead. Or have his brains smeared over a skate board? Or take a bullet to the face?
I would have simply, not taken my gun to riot with the express intention of playing vigilante. But that’s just me personally. Hope he gets {redacted} in prison as he rots there for life
He went with the intention of supplying medical aid. He was attacked after putting out a fire started by one of the people killed.
If he went with the intention to get into trouble why did he give away his plate carrier beefore he went?"
I’m a nurse, I’ve given medical aid to thousands of people, on and off duty, I’ve never felt the need to carry a weapon. |

Glad the jury came to the only sane decision. Lot of ignorance and Badly informed people out there. Seen an interview with a BLM protester outside the courthouse and he was spouting about Kyle being a white suprematist and when the interviewer pointed out all the people shot were white the guy genuinely looked confused because he thought Kyle had shot black people. Surely you’d get ur facts sorted before going to protest. The guy looked very silly holding his save black lives banner. I’m not racist at all but surely the best way to stop racism is to move onwards and upwards. Terrible things happened back in the day and nobody can excuse how people were treated but the divide is never going to close and get better unless we stop digging up the past and move forward. Also it is never going to get better if we keep blaming every issue on racism when it’s clearly not. Even if Kyle had been found guilty this would NOT have been a racially motivated crime or anything to do with race so why the obsession with twisting everything |

What the "OK" sign that is just a troll by 4chan
You are aware that literally is just a 4chan joke taken seriously by people that dont know any different. Like people that have no clue about internet culture. They did it to see how gullible people are .
You are really trying on the racism angle ain't you.
Maybe you should take a look at your own prejudice. You seem to try craft the narrative on this case with falsehoods and strawmans to suit your own agenda atleast. |

Would never win that case…. Too many pictures out there on the internet of him throwing up “white power” signs and pictures of him with various proud boys associates….
The OK thing always makes me laugh
4chan literally made a post saying “what ridiculous thing can we start to make something completely random into this huge racial shit storm”
And it fucking worked |

Glad he’s free, justice served.
Self defence was proven without doubt.
One of the rioting scum that he killed that had threatened him was a peadophile anyway. No loss. |

Joe Biden:
“While the verdict in Kenosha will leave many Americans feeling angry and concerned, myself included, we must acknowledge that the jury has spoken,” Biden said in a statement released by the White House.
The president said he would continue working to “heal our country’s wounds” until “every American is treated equally, with fairness and dignity.” He called for protests of the verdict to remain peaceful.
“I urge everyone to express their views peacefully, consistent with the rule of law,” he said. “Violence and destruction of property have no place in our democracy.”
White House press secretary Jen Psaki told reporters on Friday afternoon the White House wanted to see “peaceful protest” in reaction to the trial.
“[W]e are supporting any effort toward peaceful protest, that’s certainly what we will continue to encourage, as anyone looks to have their voice heard regardless of the outcome,” she said.
Good luck with that.. |

Thing is though the far right groups are actually using it as that now. It’s become so widespread. The man who killed all those people in a mosque in New Zealand did it in court. |

I'm really pleased that justice has been done.
He's now free to sue elements of the media...the ones that lied about him... for millions of dollars. Good. They knew they were trying to mislead the jury in the hope of getting an innocent man jailed
They will bear part of the responsibility if there are riots |

How can he be innocent if he broke a Covid curfew to drive to another city and shoot three people, killing two of them ? |

Are you going to arrest everyone else then?
Nobody that night according to the police got arrested for breaking curfew.
Being under curfew doesnt override the right to self defense |

Given one of the people he shot testified that he pointed his gun at Rittenhouse first, the verdict isn't very surprising.
Just depressing what an unnecessary shit show the whole thing was. Idiots involved on all sides. |
