On a mooch

When I have the heating on it will be a max temp of 18c. Really cold days (0-3c) I might manually bump it up to 20c for an hour or two.

Mines set to the off position, it’s very rare I’ll put the heating on tbh! The house is currently 18, so pretty mild really! Hope you get your boiler fixed soon! Miss pc

I’ve got mine set to 8.5 to stop the heating ever coming on automatically. If I get too cold I push a button and it comes on for 2 hours. Since getting back from Egypt I’m pushing it every 2hours

Unfortunately I don't have one.

Have a stove type fire in the front room and one in the other room that has a back boiler that does the radiators.

If they aren't kept running there is no heat.

It's a bit rubbish really.

Have mine off most of the year and mostly 19 when on. Then again I’m still sleeping with a summer quilt, window open in my birthday suit! I get hot easily!

Its difficult especially when they want us to stop burning coal, we had ours taken out and a gas boiler inserted, exchanged the open fire for a log burner, which is much more efficient

Calor gas might be more expensive but at least I am not paying some rip off merchants a standing charge for gas every day of the year when I only heat the house from Novenber until early April.

When they started that lark I signed out. After a while they took the meter out and eventually disconnected me at the pipe in the street. Their loss through being greedy.

The bigger the gas cylinder, the better the price and from time to time I get given or purchase cheaply some part used tanks. there are more around than you might think.

Log burners are good I do miss mine it would heat the whole structure of the house in 2-3 hours and house would then stray warm all day.

I have 2 open fires in my latest place , have a good pile of wood, not tested yet but from experience no way near as good as log burners as the heat goes straight up and out
