"I think that preferring masterbating over having sex is slightly different, I understand it that autosexuality is sexual attraction to yourself "
I'm with you on that, nothing better than mirror play |

It’s nothing new, it’s the original definition of narcissism, although that has quite different meanings now. In Greek mythology, Narcissus was a hunter who was known for his beauty. According to the myth, he rejected all romantic advances, eventually falling in love with his own reflection in a pool of water, staring at it for the remainder of his life |

I don’t think it’s strictly narcissism as the story of narcissus is about self obsession at the behest of other people whereas I think it is just sexual attraction to yourself that can be coupled with other sexual orientations... |

.
This sprang to my mind except that the term 'Narcissism' has been usurped by Psychologists, hence a different one, with less negative connotations, be used for sexual self-love. |

This is very interesting. Having had a very cursory look at it, it seems to suggest that if we can love our own sexuality, we are better able to share in a more gratifying sexual experience, whether alone or with others. That's at a very basic level and something we can all understand.
OP, in terms of masturbating to pictures of yourself, what is it that you 'see'?
Are you generally, very self confident? |

No I’m not which is strange, I’ve done it long before I was even confident in my own body, but now I am it’s really not changed...hehe strange but it’s fun, never really been open about it until now |

OP I know of this. Didn’t know it had a name.
I’ve long been open about the fact that I love nothing more than a mirror or watching my own videos whilst having sex or indulging in self pleasure. I find myself really bloody sexy

I don't think Narcissus stroked one out while looking at his reflection though. |

"Autosexuality means people more interested in themselves than other people,"
I think it's rather more that they are better able to sexualise themselves, in part because they understand their sexual desires and are able to accept that the pleasure they derive from it comes from within themselves to enjoy the experience, regardless of who is pleasuring them.
It sounds selfish. Of course, many factors in their personality would come into play but if stripped to only this feature, I would imagine it could make them more likely to be a giving and sharing sexual partner for mutual pleasure. |

That's fascinating. Perhaps that would be more a mix of extreme narcissism and not in line with autosexuality. That is where the difference lies, perhaps. |

Maybe it's that they lack trust in others?
If I saw a photo of someone who looked exactly like me I'd not get turned on.
What can happen tho, is I look through photos and remember who I was back then, how I was filled with hope, how I was carefree, sexually confident etc and there are times when I try to get back into that mindset but in a safe way. I wank because I no longer get turned on by other people, and the only person I trust in a sexual sense is myself. |

I did think it was initially to do with not feeling confident enough to be with others...but I’m really not sure, I’ve been masterbating to pictures and videos of myself, some incredibly erotic and x rated, for long over a decade! And what’s interesting is that I’ve only recently in the last couple years entertained the idea I might be Bi! I thought I was straight but just also wanted to fuck myself...for the most part that’s still true!
I’ve kept this all a secret for about fifteen years! This thread is my first time telling anyone |
