My Dad took me to a car park and taught me to park in a variety of different spaces when I was learning to drive. So, I'd say I'm pretty good. As long as I can reverse into the space. I can't drive in though, he didn't teach me that! |

"I could park a Sherman on a postage stamp…almost!"
Eeehhh a fellow admirer of tanks
Also im a pro at it, but then i was lucky to have a dad who was a driving instructor and learned from the age of 13. Reverse parking into a bay is second nature to me. Ppl just get lazy and complacent it makes me shudder |

I don't get your judgement ?
I'm an advanced driver and I find it really irritating that observers often judge when they cannot have a clue what the actual DRIVER can see, hear or how they feel.
I've been parped from behind when I've stopped or slowed so as NOT to run over something or to let an ambulance past.
There's always someone who wants to DRIVE everyone's elses car. When in fact if they concentrated on their own the roads would be far safer. |

I park in the furthest spot possible from where I need to be. Nobody else parks there, they’re too busy trying to squeeze into the spot nearest the doors. |

Considering ive been an advanced driver before i hit 20 (unofficially anyway i still need to go for my ADI license) for someone like myself to see such bad driving on a regular basis is a big worry for me.
I understand not everyone might in the right headspace and make the odd mistake here and there, but i know for a fact that many are bad drivers because theyre simply lazy, complacent and poorly disciplined.
Which also leads me to wonder where else are they poorly disciplined, observation? Their focus? They could potentially cause a crash, and possibly a fatal one too. Ppl who have beeped at you for slowing down for a genuine reason are just idiots who are in a rush, so their judgements hold little value.
Honestly ppl should be judged more harshly on their driving, theyre operating heavy machinery in its most basic form regardless how many safety features are installed or how pretty theyre dressed up, ppl need to understand this and act accordingly. It would help make ppl consider how they drive more and hopefully put more effort into it |

I love parking, especially parallel parking whilst old judgemental guys are watching thinking I can't do it first time round.
I have to resist temptation to ask if they'd be able to get it in first try. |

I was reversing out of a parking spot with bollards dotted around. Someone banged on my car when I was "nearly close" to one. I got out and had some fruitful words to say to him. 1) I can fucking drive, I'm aware of my surroundings and I park in this spot often. 2) don't fucking touch my car. Grrrrrr. |

Can park without a second thought.
Not always the case with big car, others bad parking etc then it's hairy BUT in general not an issue.
I don't understand people who reverse park in to back to back bays then try to squeeze their trolleys down the side to load their groceries in like.
That's definitely a drive in day |

I agree with most of that.
So many just turn right without looking to see if anyone is in the road.
I see it on a daily basis.
Plus I do think that people should have to retake their test or at least attend refresher classes every few years. |

I have no problems reverse parking into a space using just wing mirrors, had loads of practice, and always equally between the lines. I Always reverse park in unless I'm going to be loading a full shopping trolley then I need access to the boot. |

Yes I can reverse park and parallel park. I don't have parking sensors or reversing cameras either. I have been drinking for nearly 30 years mind. Crikey that makes me sound ancient. |

Just bought a new car that apparently parks itself. The salesman was telling us all about it but I had to stop him and say “ or, we could just look out of the big windows and look in the mirrors like we’ve been doing for the last 30 years”. He agreed! |
