If a book really holds my attention I'm like that. I'm a restless reader, I tend to skip over paragraphs and sometimes whole chapters if a book is really awful but I want to know the ending. I might get an old favourite off the shelf and see if it motivates me. |

I'm currently re-reading The Box of Delights and The Fellowship of the Ring.
It's only when you say them together it sounds like pure filth
Plus I always have a poetry book by the bed as I like to read one or two occasionally before I fall asleep, depending on my mood. |

"I've got the Shadowlands series of books by Cherise Sinclair on audio that I'm listening to. Love them.
I tried books on audio mode and i just felt asleep "
That's partly my problem, but I can't focus on written books for long enough, so it has to be audio or nothing. |

I've not long finished "After". It's about first hand accounts and research into Near Death Experiences. What people "see" just before a serious accident/incident and the life reviews they see in those split seconds. I find it really fascinating. |

I'm in the same predicament. I know I'm going to enjoy them all but it depends what mood I'm in as to whether I'll get into it enough to want to finish it. |

I have set a goal today. I am going to clear the dead leaves from the strawberry plants this week but also make a point of reading for at least one hour a day. . |

"My to read pile is 35 books long, rather annoying that I haven't had much time to read lately.
Currently reading Sandi Toksvig Between the Stops"
That's on my list. I haven't bought it yet, do you recommend?
As if I need another book |

Anything by Martina Cole, the Lady-killer and Broken are the two standout ones, but they're nearly all great! In a similar vein, Kimberly Chambers "Butler's / Mitchell's" set is a real treat. |

"
That was the length of to read list around end of last year. Took a resolution to finish them all before adding a new book to the list. Just two more remaining to reach the goal. |

Do you not find Martina Cole’s too samey though? |

Yes now, but the first 5 were all standout, and every now and then she hits form again. |

Frankenstein by Dean R Koontz.
Set in the future (now to be exact) and much about his years of isolation and wanted for various murders.
Pretty good and tend to feel sorry for him.
I am a big fan of the author and if you ever see a edition of Lightning, get it ! |
