This is just one of those unfortunate events.
Scorpions are stinging people who they feel threatened by. These creatures like dark places, meaning they are less likely to be seen.
They're not actively chasing and stinging residents. |

I think they proved they were. Fuck, can't remember what I saw it on but it all made perfect sense. A chain of events starting from a volcanic eruption I think.
