Paracetamol. I came on today and back pain was really bad. Took 2 paracetamol start of my shift at 5pm and I’m alright now and I’ve been walking non stop all night. Busting for bed though, only another 4 hours left |

"hot water bottle and cocodamol along with ibuprofen plus if I'm really bad "
Be careful with the hot water bottles. Heat registers in the brain faster than pain so can be really helpful
I was left with a permanent mark on my back from too many hot water bottles

Oh totally ha, I could literally rip the head off every man in work (or burst out crying) when I think 'we're doing the same job and you're not having to hide this trauma every month!' ! |

"Never had them bad myself my 29 year old has real bad ones she uses ibuprofen 400 the ones u buy over counter x"
To be honest this is first time in a while, I don’t normally get pains very often anymore, I used to when I was younger, but since having children I’m very light and normally only on for 3 days.

This might sound odd considering it's primarily targeted at IBS sufferers but Buscopan Cramps really made a difference by reducing the mini painful contraction like feelings I was getting.
In terms of actual pain medication; I'm prescribed tramadol but for obvious not wanting to be out of my mind reasons I try and take Panadol and use a hot water bottle. Co-codamol if it's particularly bad, tram if I'm unable to move without throwing up from pain. Ibuprofen and that family of pain medication are more effective but not advised if you have asthma.
^obviously all of this anecdotal and might not be effective for you, nor am I recommending any particular one but sharing what works best for me. |

Nothing, absolutely nothing. I live with chronic menstrual pain. I've tried prescription pain meds, I've tried herbal remedies, I've tried a tens machine, I've tried heat, I've tried surgery. (I refuse to take BC).
I grit my teeth each month and break down regularly. I'd rather be in labour than have period pain or even have a period.
I can't be me for that one week a month because of the pain and how much blood I lose.
(sorry, bit of a rant whilst I've withering around in pain).
I do have Endometriosis and although not confirmed, I'm sure I have Adenomyosis. The lack of knowledge and expertise in women's health is depressing. |

Was in agony yesterday, proper contacting type pain that make you feel sick when you breathe.
Dr can't or won't give me anything as I have reactions to a lot.
Used to find the blue feminex great til they stopped selling over the counter.
Yesterday did take a naproxin and paracetamol and a hot water bottle.
Found an electric blanket great as you can cocoon it around yourself front and back. |

I don’t suffer awfully but this month was proper dull and achey! I popped some pain killers and went to the gym as I find exercising really helps me (not like the bloody body form adverts where they are skating in white trousers lol ) |

It won't help in the moment, more of a preventative thing - brassicas. Broccoli, cauliflower etc. Apparently they have something in them that helps alleviate the pain. I found eating them a few times a week, did lessen the cramping after a while.

I have to agree with bascopan, it really helps.
Regular exercise throughout the month and when you're on (if you can) really helps.
I used to be crippled by it along with PMS but things seem to have calmed down as I've got older.
Womens health is so badly overlooked by the medical profession and its really sad.
I dont want anymore children and would love a hysterectomy but they wont give me one. |

I've been begging for a hyst for a while. I really struggle and don't want anymore kids. They said I can't have it because what happens WHEN me and my husband get divorced and my "new husband" wants kids. Jaw dropped but I had no reserves to fight back on it. Left in absolute anger. |

Yeah, I'm told I'll want children or I'll meet a man who'll want them.
I'm in my mid-30s, can I make a decision like a grown up yet?
It's also 2021, can we accept I'm not a man's chattel? |

My ex used to joke he knew exactly when mine was due cos I was always all over him the day right before it started but once I come on that's the last thing I want |

Exactly like me, I can be wanting it hours before I come on but as soon as I am that's it. Its better if noone looks, touches or talks to me for a week |

Blimey, that would have given me the ranty PMT symptoms and gave him / her what for.
To the OP happily I don't have them anymore but when I was early twenties they were debilitating and nothing eased it but when they got easier as I got older paracetamol and chocolate helped.
It doesn't seem much difference now to then with the "get on with it it is just a period pain " attitude, and you would have hoped someone would have come up with a better solution than just keep going whether you are in agony or not by now.
Hopefully some of the tips on this thread might help

Funnily enough they did a study once and it seemed most of us where like that. It seemed lapdancers in clubs always got bigger tips the couple of days before their period too |
