Been on a robin Williams binge on YouTube tonight with a couple of rums while Mrs is out...and by God that man had such an impact on my childhood growing up and he was an unbelievable actor. Makes me believe that its hard to be such a profound actor unless you have some kind of internal suffering that you can tap into, and he tapped into it with every performance. Shame it is what consumed him.

Dementia with Lewy’s Bodies. My mum had it.

I can understand the preference to rather end it all.

I absolutely adore the man. My favourite actor and rewatching his movies brings me so much comfort and happiness. It's quite upsetting to think how he must have felt.

was that the case? I've not looked into his death much I just know he killed himself by hanging which is just horrific on its own without any context.

I feel so much more sadness and feel his performances so much more now when I watch him and appreciate just how absolutely awesome he was.

Watching Robin Williams acting played a huge part in my life as I grew up and massively influenced my sense of humour. I adored raising my kids on his movies and sharing my love of his acting and humour with them.

Sadly missed but not forgotten

Awesome actor & comedian with his improvisational skills and the wide variety of characters he created on the spur of the moment were second to none (genius). Dearly missed...

So I read. Most sufferers veer towards killing themselves.

Such a tormented soul, you that morning mask on to blend in with the masses until its too unbearable to press up against your weeping face

I think he suffered with his mental health most of his life..then to be diagnosed with this terrible Dementia was just the final thing for him...so sad..he was a very funny man and a great actor, hid his demons well from the public. RIP Robin Williams.

He played the part of Oliver Sacks in Awakenings too. A more serious film but he played him so well. OS another genius and a wonderful human being.

Possibly why some of his best acting was his darker roles such as Fisher King, World according to Garp, One hour photo & Good Will Hunting.

I'll throw it out there that he's probably one of the best actors ever, as he had such a huge range that many others just cant get close to competing with.
