OK, this you might think this is dodgy but it is totally legit.
My elderly father has long forgotten a computer password for something important that now he now needs. There doesn't appear to be any way of resetting it.
Does anybody here have any knowledge, advice or experience in cracking passwords? |

Have you tried the usual stuff, names, dates of birth, nicknames, word associated to hobbies. A lot of elderly people try to associate them with something familiar. |

Depends where the password hash is stored, locally on the computer directly in the file system somehow, or online. If online, forget it. If locally, it’s possible. It depends how long it is, and would be helpful to know which app or product it’s for. Often you can just pull it out of the registry but no guarantees …
Welcome to message me but in all honestly you’re maybe looking at a 1 in 10 chance especially if someone is trying to talk you through it rather than having the machine to hand .. |

Second this, I have various tools that can hash and brute if necessary. Electronic warfare army. If someone is talking you through it doubt you will get in you need an IT Sec person really hands on or at least remote connection. |
