I may seem a bit bah humbug with this, but I went to the Birmingham markets once, and I hated it. Overcrowded, and a series of repetitive stalls selling what for me, seemed like overpriced tat. I don’t know if there are more independent markets operations elsewhere. I think I’d find and choose those instead if there were.

Thinking of taking a trip to Manchester Christmas markets. They are open now. Past years were good.

London is good but stupidly busy.

I'm heading to Manchester tomorrow I think, before it gets too busy for me. I've always enjoyed it there in the past.

There seems to be more of them this year so hopefully the different locations will help spread the crowd.

Also if anyone is planning on coming to London for winter wonderland, you need entrance tickets in advance, it is no longer a walk in walk out venue.

I've never been to one but loads of my friends go to the Brum one. A few have said they don't buy anything other than mulled wine and a hotdog, but go for the festive spirit

.

The Padstow Christmas market is often quite good but does get very very crowded at busy times. Been cancelled this year and last though.

I love Edinburgh Christmas Market. The setting is perfect as beside the castle and it is all lit up at night. Was not on last year so I have 2 planned trips this year.

Always start off in the Birmingham Market for my Works Xmas Do..but not many now sell my Fritze Spices . So I don't have any other reason to go!

Nice Bratty and drinks at a pub ending up in the Village on Hurst St before walking/staggering/crawling home...

Littlehampton

Better off making a weekend of it by going to the Belgium Christmas markets. Much more festive ,in amazing surroundings and the fat bratwurst will give even the experienced throat a work out.
