... is pants when one lives in the countryside!
I would need to take 3 buses in order to travel to work, and start my journey at least 2 hours earlier than normal.
Taxi may be more costly, however, it certainly looks more attractive than having to stand about waiting for the buses with or without shelter!

I, too, sympathise. We have hardly any public transport here and I'm pretty much stuck when my car is off the road.
I don't know how I'd cope without it. |

Buy a spare car
I picked up a little Fiesta Van for £600 that I bought to take my dog to the beach in, to save him wrecking my other can.
Kates car wouldn't start on Friday morning so she just took the van. |
