Hate Coldplay with a vengeance, insipid music for student bedwetters and people who like their rock music to be very polite.

Keane are similar but worse, as they don't even have the decency to have a guitarist.

How dare you not get Led Zeppelin though

I really dont get why people like them. usually if I get into an debate about them, I ask the person to hum or sing one of their songs... as yet, no one has been able to!

Still don't get Led Zep!

You need educating

Just hum one Coldplay tune and you've hummed them all ! Words really can't describe how much I hate them...it's up there with anyone that made a 'career' from a reality TV show !

Kidderminster+ surrounding areas.

not keen on oasis, blur or springsteen to be honest!,led zep i did see live and all are bloody good at the job within the band but they were not at all original,'borrowed' a lot of material from the old blues guys thn re-wrote a word or two then passed it of as'page-plant' originals!,they had court cases in usa for plageurism and unlike eric clapton who fully acknowledged his influences from these black blues men and paid royalties, led zep did not!.

the guitarist (jimmy page)also ripped of 'the creation' guitarist eddie phillips idea of using a violin or viola bow across the guitar strings whilst playing and everyone exclaimed how original jimmy was!,but although a fine session player he was not original.

If I remember rightly the court case you refer to was because they didn't get full permission to use Willie Dixon's "Whole lotta love" but it was soon sorted. I think it was Chess Records that had the rights to the song, and you'll probably find they've made more money from Led Zeps version than they ever did from Willie Dixon or any of the other artists that covered it.

Top Of The Pops used it for years to introduce the programme, and on my copy of Led Zeps record, Willie Dixon is cedited with writing it

Otherwise Pink Floyd. Self indulgent at times, but brilliant and groundbreaking.

I may be old fashioned in my thinking but you can only be a "band" if you can actually play the instruments.

There's loads I don't like and just as many that I do.

Because I'm an old fucker I've lived through the rock n roll years, I've witnessed Glam Rock, Punk, Heavy Metal, etc, etc, the list goes on, but each new genre always say they were influenced by their predessors.

At the end of the day there'll always be acts we like and don't like

"Beatles. A few good tracks but think it was a lot of hype about nothing. "

Strangely enough last night ended on the Beatles, J said "Norwegian Wood" was the only track of theirs she liked.... so our friend got out his phone and started playing other tracks like Lucy, Strawbery Field, Here Comes the Sun etc.... anyway much later it appears that there are quite a few songs that are the only Beatles track J likes... for a band that were only recording for 10 years give or take, there are a LOT of albums and some great songs scattered amongst them....

Personally, I like my music loud and heavy, but with a good story in the lyrics too...

Lindsey Buckingham's a killer guitarist though !

As for The Beatles, they went from being Westlife to Tool in the space of 4 years, no other band has ever had that kind of musical development ! Don't like everything they did but their influence is enormous (I only like Sgt. Peppers, Rubber Soul and Revolver)"

Lindsey Buckingham, so agrre, but California. Al Stewart, How about Alan Parsons and Eric Wooolfson, ELO. Jimmy Page, bloody awesome.

What's not to get about guns n roses? One of the worlds greatest!

Absolutely. Best band I've seen live by far. Slash alone is a legend. "

"Think we need to add this.

Muse are a bit Whiney but far better than Coldplay.

Muse have some awesome tracks.

Muse are one of the best bands I've ever seen live

Totally agree with this

Really don't like westlife or coldplay.... "

I totally get Muse and they are by far one of the best bands to see live, and cause of my job ive seen loads.

Westlife i never did get and coldplay only have a couple of good songs, nothing to give them the status they have acquired.

Bon jovi are a bit crud

Coldplay,two good songs,in a sea of drivel.

In defence of the Beatles, they went from she loves you yeah yeah yeah,to eleanor Rigby in two years, maybe for them drugs did work.they wrote some fantastic songs.

Money money makes the world go round, the same way money makes these girls go down.

Some class lyrics though.

Apart from John Lennon and George Harrison, the Beatles have to be one of the most irritating bands of all time. Their only period that I would credit was their Sgt Pepper episode. Everything else made me want to rip my ears off.

And don't get me started on girlbands and boybands! They're just the spawn of the devil! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

I really feel like i want to contribute to this thread but there are just so many bands i want to list. Credit to those who mentioned Queen, Coldplay and prety much everyone else in this extensive list too. The only one i can think of while my tiny brain has shut down is probably Roxette, bloody awful. Oh and Chicago, The Eagles and pretty much all that middle of the road american rubbish. You can also add all that pretentious progressive stuff too like Yes, King Crimson etc. I'd better stop now.
