2 totally different things so no comparison.

A fab is a liking of a picture or video.

A message is an interest in us.

I wouldn't view a fab as an expression of interest. I don't often look at who has fabbed me but if I do I would assume if someone hasn't messaged then they aren't interested, and the fab was just a way to say "nice photo".

As others said, I wouldn't take a fab as a sign that someone's interested in me.

It's always nice to get them though, saying that.

I never look at who has fabbed me and wouldn't even consider messaging someone just because they had fabbed a picture. I fab people because I like the photo/video not because I'm in interested in them.

I much prefer a message then I can assume Fabs aren’t required as I’ve already grabbed your attention. That said if you fab I feel equally flattered, I’ll check you out and if it looks like we might be compatible I’ll break the ice by messaging you. Don’t be shy……
