You know when certain songs stick in your head.. sun up how you feel, take you back to a time or place, brought you to tears, made your laugh…

I bloody love that about music..

Share your favourite song lyrics with me.. get Damian Rice out of my head for a night

God, just too many to quote! All of my favourite songs are tied to particular moments/people in my life.

Currently humming "Forever Autumn" by Justin Hayward while thinking of walks I used to have with my dad. Sad/happy thoughts

"...You always loved this time of year..." x

In a ball gown because that's how we roll in N. Devon

Here you go Saff... makes me think of someone....

Brave - The Shires.

Lie down just forget the world and your worries

Calm down, don't be so absurd, I'm sorry

It's not the first time, I've seen you cry

You don't have to be so brave tonight

Let go, let yourself be free

Talk to me, tell me what's wrong now

It's not the first time, I've seen you cry

You don't have to be so brave tonight

Well, let me hold your heart, let me be the one

You'll never have to feel so alone

Let me bring you back to the world, back home

Let me mend your broken soul

Calm down, just calm down

It's not the first time, I've seen you cry

You don't have to be so brave tonight

Well, let me hold your heart, let me be the one

You'll never have to feel so alone

Let me bring you back to the world, back home

Let me mend your broken soul

Well my fav song of all time for me is prince purple rain, but its amazing how some songs just reach u in the core with certain lyrics. Andy grammer-don't give up on me, which is a love song from the outset, but i use it to help when i have bouts of depression with my mental health. same with rise up - andra day but thats more obvious one. Thats 3 off top of my head but plenty more come to mind.

It's not time to make a change

Just relax, take it easy; You're still young, that's your fault, There's so much you have to know

Find a girl, settle down... If you want you can marry... Look at me, I am old but I'm happy

I was once like you are now - And I know that it's not easy, To be calm when you've found something going on...

But take your time, think a lot... Why, think of everything you've got For you will still be here tomorrow, But your dreams may not

I find sometimes that certain songs can do the talking for you as well, recently started listening to excuses by olly murs after recently splitting up with my partner a few months ago. The lyrics just hit home and get me thinking over it.

On a mooch

Lots of songs invoke memories bringing either smiles or tears.

However this one will always remind me of this past year, an African gospel come house mix that bought nothing but smiles in this house, with laughter as we tried to recreate the dance (badly!). If either of us are feeling blue, it’s our go to song and guarantees to get us up and dancing away the blues - Jersualema by Master KG Feat Nomcebo & Burna Boy

One of my all time favourite songs is “In The Waiting Line,” by Zero 7. Whenever I hear the opening bars, it fills me with warmth and makes me remember a time when life seemed easy and I was always happy.

In the last couple of days I've been singing RAY BLK - MIA nonstop. Great hook, cool sample, and sweet lyrics:

Sex feel better when we've got a view

Rio de Janeiro or the land Cancun

Really, it's just better when I'm with you

Times like this I wish were all year, oh yeah

Make the haters wish they were here

You feel like a vacation

Times like this feel like I got it all

'Cause if I got you, I got it all

Running off, we MIA, yeah-yeah

They don't need to know, no

MIA, yeah-yeah

We off this grid for sure

Location stays unknown

We ride, we stay on the low

MIA, yeah-yeah

I have seen Damian Rice live at MEN Arena and he was stunning. At one point he turned all stage electrics off and stood in front of the mic and played Cannonball on acoustic guitar. You could hear a pin drop as the whole audience were in awe. Such a spine tingling moment.

Cheers, he's in my head now too.

For me it’s a day to remember - the house that doubt built.

For some reason these lyrics are always in my head!

In the end it's not about what you have

In the end it's all about where you wanna go

And the roads you take to help you get there

I hope you think that's fair

'Cause you only got one life to lead

So don't take for granted those little things

Those little things are all that we have

And maybe she'd take me to France

Or maybe to Spain, she'd ask me to dance

In a mansion on the top of a hill

She'd ash on the carpets

And slip me a pill

Then she'd get me pretty loaded on gin

And maybe she'd give me a bath

How I wish I had a Sylvia Plath

Sylvia Plath - Ryan Adams
