Are ghosts real? Has anyone ever had a supernatural experience? In my old house every now and again I would hear a dog toy squeak, just once. Literally right in front of me when watching the Telly. I googled it and was surprised at how common it is! God knows how many times I stood in invisible dog shit in my living room |

". It depends what you think a ghost is. Are you hearing a dead dog playing with a toy? I personally doubt it. "
Don’t know. I spoke to my elderly neighbour about it and she told me a very sad story.
The couple who lived there before me had very bad luck, The woman who lived there could not have kids as she had cancer, they bought a dog when they lived there. After they moved out they got married but she died soon afterwards from her illness! |

I knew of someone who heard an odd noise at regular intervals similar to a cock crowing. Many supernatural theories were put forward until they found an old digital watch under their son's bed with an alarm that sounded like a cocks crow going off every 24 hours.

I used to hear water dripping occasionally, could never predict when I’d hear it next or track down where I heard it. Eventually I realised a wall clock occasionally hiccuped on the second hand tick, making a sound exactly like a drip. Preferred it when I thought I was haunted by the ghost of my still alive kid not turning taps off properly… |

. Now! I am a firm believer that there are things we have no explanation for, I've experienced many things myself but 99.9% of "supernatural" occurrences have a natural explanation. |

I believe in people's experiences, and I have had some myself.
However, I do not believe 'ghosts' are the spirits of the dead, but are more of a memory of an event that embedded itself so strongly that it has been passed down as some form of 'genetic memory' (in the same way as some animals learned behaviour is past down) and then been triggered.
Then as the human mind is very good at piecing unrelated things together and making things up, it fills in all the other gaps.
Probably total bollocks, but... |

Never seen anything. Always an explanation for odd sounds. Don’t believe that they exist.
And why am I so adamant? Well i think if they were real - i’m quite sure that the Governments of the world wold have found a way to tax them by now! |

I'd sometimes accompany my mother when she worked at a pub which was supposed to be haunted.
There were occasions when heavy ash trays would slide off tables.
Thing is, the dog would notice something was up and rush upstairs to the living quarters, clearly spooked.
Adults can be deluded, but how do you explain a dog? |

I’ve had numerous unexplained “supernatural” experiences - so much so that someone once asked me if I thought I might be psychic. I’m not… and I don’t believe in ghosts but I’ve had experiences that I cannot explain, verified by other people who heard the noises, or had experienced the same thing in the same room without ever having shared the experience some years later. Spooky but I believe there will be a logical scientific explanation. |

My mum thinks that I have a spirit that follows me, wherever I have lived she has felt or seen a presence when she has stayed there. She thinks it's my great nanny as the silhouette she saw looked just how she would stand. |

This ^ and not just you but two others saw the same. Seemed so real and happening, until we went to ask for the key to let them out, only to be told not possible as they’d passed during the Christmas holiday. |

I'm a believer, though I think a lot of experiences can be traced to something physical. I really love hearing people's stories though, especially the really old historical tales |

Lots of strange things have happened in my house, the most dramatic being the dogs dinner bowl flying across the room..it was in a raised stand, the kind where you have to push it from underneath to get it out, she was eating out of it at the time, and all of a sudden it was flying through the air. Happened a few times. I've also had my ears flicked countless times when I've been alone in the house. And the dogs collars that don't fit over their heads have ended up on the floor still fastened quite a few times.
I'm not sure if I believe in ghosts, but there are a lot of things that I can't explain. |

The human brain and mind are phenomenal and everything that you perceive is created by them. What we think we see, hear, smell, taste etc are our interpretations and are not free from the influence of our past experiences, beliefs and biases etc. Looking for a ghost? Start on the inside, where we create it.
If a former living person was able to exist now, it would revolutionise our understanding of the universe, physics etc
Occams Razer. Probably just our amazing mind. |

When I was a kid , had the duvet covers pulled off me in the middle of the night, could feel a presence but was too scared to look and was 100% sure it wasn’t a family member pulling a prank or something as made no sense for them to do so ! |

I did see a few strange things in the early 90s. Very strange loud tapping noises. Quite repetitive. And some very bright lights would sometimes inexplicably shine from the corner of a darkened room.
Suspect it was the drugs rather than ghosts though. |

Nope.
However, people will believe what they want to believe, and it's incredibly easy to leverage confirmation bias. Derren Brown does it all the time as part of his performance. I've seen so-called "Ghost Hunters" use the same techniques.
Do you know what motivates people ?
FUD
Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt.
And here's the absolute kicker...for some people, the inability to grasp that there actually is nothing beyond all this is more terrifying than the existence of ghosts. Because if ghosts are real, it affords them some measure of hope, and they'll desperately cling on to that rather than oblivion.

Yes we believe
Various things have happened to us including feeling of someone sat on my legs a few time
Can feel them getting up.
Usually it’s relatives who pop round to see how we are doing |

I can not explain it but seeing, smelling ( smoke) and feeling someone sat on you.
A couple of years ago I would of said it was the mind but there is too much that we can not understand ( yet ) |

I didn't believe in ghosts but...
It started when she was about 6 weeks old. During the late night feed and change she would watch something. Moving their head back and forth following something. I I initially shrugged it off.
As they got older they would babble randomly like someone was talking to them. Always the same time every night. 1am till 4 am. They would wake up. Not need anything and he happy and content in their cot. Then during this period they started laughing hysterically. I'd go in to check settle them down. And within minutes of me leaving they would be laughing again. Over the baby monitor it would sound like they were jumping off the sides of the cot. Yet they was only 4/5 months old.
Then they started talking. 1am they would wake up with "hiiii" and talk and baby and laugh till 4am when they would say "bye bye" and settle back to sleep.
This went on till they were about 1ish. I convinced myself they had made an imaginary friend early or something. Then one night they wake up as normal at 1am with a "hiiiii" they started their normal chatter with nothing. The bouncing noises started too and they were happily laughing (in a pitch black room!) when suddenly they shout out "No! Ow! GET AWAY!!!" I go rushing in to check on them and they are screaming "get away get away" at the top of their lungs. When I picked them up they were burying their head into me terrified.
After that we swapped bedrooms with the kid. They seemed more settled in the other room. But our new room (her old one) was always freezing and randomly our TV started playing up. What ever channel we put it on it would revert to channel 72... Plain static...
We stayed like that for 6 months or so before we tried swapping back thinking the phase was over. They had stopped waking during the night and now slept through happily. First night back in that room. 1am... Guess who was up laughing hysterically in the dark room... You guessed it, the kid. They seemed to be friends again so we left it.
As they grew more we learnt they played with a little girl called daisy during the night, she wore a long white dress and was wanted to laugh because she was tired of being sad. This "imaginary friend" stayed with my kid until we moved out of the house. My kid was obsessed with it. When I tried to settle them as they got older and explain it was time to sleep they would outright tell me I was making daisy angry.
Loads think my kid played with a ghost I still choose to try and believe it was an early imaginary friend.

Very similar to ours
We have pics of orbs in the bedroom which we couldn’t see but the baby could.
When the static on the cctv baby camera went nuts the baby would stare at the area which was most blurred on the camera.
Got one pic of our son ( deceased ) on the baby monitor tho sat up in our other sons cot .
Just a shame we went directly into that room but could not see anything.
Can smell someone smoking on the top of our stairs quite often too |

School trip to St Paul's Cathedral in the 70's, get toured to the crypt and the Duke of Wellington's gun carriage is there.
I see what I now know are several orbs hovering around it, at the time I hadn't a clue what I was seeing just the wierd spheres of light.
I do believe spirits exist, just don't want any visits from them. |

Spiritual, angels, demons, God, Satan, Heaven, Hell, etc. IS REAL
Some things must be believed before they can be seen.
We’re used to the way science usually works: We see it, then we believe it.
We’ve all heard that seeing is believing.
In fact, most of us believe that things must be seen to be believed.
But, that’s not always true.
In fact, sometimes, science works the other way.
We believe something, and upon investigation, we observe that in fact, there is something there to believe in.
Often, without belief, we don’t even know where to look.
That’s why I’m big believer in possibility.

Climbed the Tower at Tutbury Castle, when I got to the top I started waving to my Daughter in her buggy back on the ground floor with my ex-ex-wife, she was waving happily back up at me when she suddenly screamed! I then heard a woman whisper in my ear "get out", I even felt her breath on my neck!! Needless to say, I ran down those stairs and out. I was the only person in the tower at the time and there's no electrics (don't know about now 16yrs later) up there!
And my Daughter was hysterical until we left the site...
I've also been stood in the middle of Pluckley, Kent (well) after a Ghost Tour (supposedly the most Haunted Village in the UK), Foggy Night, very cold and about 2am. I was crossing the High Street when I heard a couple of Horses come galloping up the Road straight at me. There was no time (by the sound) for me to get out of the way.
The Fog moved slightly as they went past me but visibility was about 7 metres (I could see the houses on either side of the road) but no Horses! Apparently it's a common sound there. I've never been back since |

if ghosts are real, with 1000s of paranormal related groups with millions of members on social media all walking round with smartphones with great video recording quality, add to that èvery country with a TV broadcasting capability has at least one "ghost hunter" type programme you would have thought someone would have come up with some decent evidence that would stand up to robust measurable scientific scrutiny?
Yet so far not one ?? |

"Climbed the Tower at Tutbury Castle, when I got to the top I started waving to my Daughter in her buggy back on the ground floor with my ex-ex-wife, she was waving happily back up at me when she suddenly screamed!

I’m a believer, I’ve had a few unexplained experiences;
Glass moving in a restaurant, when talking to the manager about it she showed me a cctv still from a few nights before of a figure right where I was sat.
Grill pan flew off the side in my student house.
Shadow going across my living room wall. |

"Lots of strange things have happened in my house, the most dramatic being the dogs dinner bowl flying across the room..it was in a raised stand, the kind where you have to push it from underneath to get it out, she was eating out of it at the time, and all of a sudden it was flying through the air. Happened a few times. I've also had my ears flicked countless times when I've been alone in the house. And the dogs collars that don't fit over their heads have ended up on the floor still fastened quite a few times.
I'm not sure if I believe in ghosts, but there are a lot of things that I can't explain. "
Maybe your dog is not a fan of pedigree chum |

True story. Was at my grans as a young kid around 8 or 9 years old and seen an old woman standing at the bottom of the drive,(Gran lived on a small farm),went in the house and told my gran and mum about her so we went out to see who it was,no-one there. Gran asked what the woman looked like so described an old woman with white curly hair and a pink cardigan. Turned out my great gran always wore a pink cardigan but she'd died years before I was even born |

"When I was a kid , had the duvet covers pulled off me in the middle of the night, could feel a presence but was too scared to look and was 100% sure it wasn’t a family member pulling a prank or something as made no sense for them to do so ! " Yes I had a presence a few times in my bedroom as a youngster I use to break out into a cold sweat all over under the bed sheet I could almost feel a hand on my back, only to be told by my mother than on occasions she would hear some one walk down the landing or passage who had a kind of limp and from there would be heard going up the stairs apparently the neighbour who lived there before was a old man who had a limp I was possibly in his former bedroom but as a kid I did not make a big thing of it I even once looked thou it was darkish in the room to see if I could see anyone something I don't think I could do now .. Thou there have been other times elsewhere I,d class as paranormal too. |

I'm sure there is some weird shit out there - Not so sure if there are ghosts as such but definitely stuff we dont understand & probably never will...
I've had a few odd experiences - I'll mention a couple of them (1 now & the other later) as with these I had company so it wasn't me hallucinating!
1st - happened in mid France, me & a mate were heading back to the car after a spot of fishing on a remote river - it was late at night & in a very rural location. Setting the scene it was classic ghost story atmosphere - pitch black, very still, grass was already dewy, bit of a moon & a few few feet of light low lying, wispy fog.
We had about a mile trek to get to the car & about halfway back a strange figure/shspe appeared about 15ft to our right, it seemed to be animal like & was the size & rough shape of a sheep or large dog. We could make out the general shape of a body/torso & head but no legs & it was glowing unnaturally- albeit very faintly, this was how we could make it out as it was that dark we'd never of seen or noticed an actual animal (even a white one)
The really wierd bit was that it didn't move right - it kind of slowly slid or drifted in smooth manner parallel to us without making a sound....
It moved with us for about 20 paces then stopped - we went back & it moved/slid/floated away from us, we then carried on in the original direction & it followed us again but stopped at the spot as it originally stopped at - we did this another couple of times to try & suss out what it was & it always stopped at the same spot (probably just as well as we'd have had the Willie's big time if it followed us for longer!)
I tried to get closer to it but there was a ditch in between us & it, I couldn't get my torch as it was in the rucksack & both of us had hands laden full of fishing gear,
My mate was actually getting a bit edgy now so we decided to make tracks & we headed back to the car in silence,
So we get to the car, I drop the gear in my hands to floor, remove the rucksack & dig out the torch.
My mate looks at me dumbfounded & says "you're fucking going back aren't you?"
"Too fucking right" says me " Im scientifically trained & I don't like seeing stuff I don't understand or can't explain - I'm going back for a better look"
My mate - I think not wanting to be left alone comes along with me,
....of course we get back to the spot & there's nothing to be seen, absolutely zilch, no creature, no ghostly aperition, no mad axeman; or headless horseman either! Also no obvious sign that something was ever there - strange as we could make out our footprints in the dew from earlier...
So a weird one indeed - we both saw it,
We both saw it in the same light with the same features, it was definitely there - but when we returned it wasn't ....
