I'm on site tomorrow and I can't wait to interact with real people!
Working from home I get less done per hour but I work longer hours so it all balances. I just miss the water cooler type of social interaction. |

Not really because I always end up feeling guilty and over compensate by working longer hours to make up for lost time. I do tend to work smart and get things done though if I know that it's going to be one of those dickstracted days. |

I worked from home and this si b4 the covid stuff
In every contract for the last 35 years or so it was - NO weekend work and at least one day WFH. As the years went on I demanded two days WFH and this was agreed but often did three and was flexible with the days but Mon and Fridays was almost a no no for me going to the office.
I actually did more working from home as less distraction/social chats etc. |

"Spending my day procrastinating and enjoying myself..anyone else?"
We call this an internal flexi day. You're taking a days flexi but only you know about it! I have done it today on account of being hung over |

I WFH 2 days a week now, same as before the pandemic. Did everything from home for a year though. I work incredibly hard from home, exactly the same as when I'm in the centre. I regularly forget to have lunch and work far longer than the 7.5hrs I'm paid to do. It doesn't do any favours to those who want to or need to do some element of WFH to have people dossing around. This is why corporate types are trying to remove WFH as an option in many places....... |

Working from home =
- the dishwasher is always either stacked or empty
- never needing to go to the post office or neighbours to get an undeliverable package
- lie in every day
- longer lie in if I can go without a shower, which I can because I'm not in the office.
- Very little procrastinating about what to wear.
- Knowing every movement of every person in my street that passes by my office window.
- knowing which neighbour owns which dog and who drives what.
- very infrequent visits to the petrol station (what fuel crisis?)
- spending hundreds of pounds a month on a lovely car to sit outside my house.
- Not having to remember to put the bins out at night.
- More wanking
You can tell from my response just how fucking bored with it I am now (except for the last point). |

Been WHF off and on at least 50/50 for the past 20 years. So well past the wanking phase. Business as usual whether in the office face to face or using remote meeting tools. Makes no odds if you plan and manage things properly. Far quicker to scramble a ‘virtual’ meeting when the team is spread across 4 continents.
It can get a bit boring and always nice to have days in the office though. So a mix is good.

"There’s a good chance a lot of work will be contracted out overseas , lots cheaper. "
That’s been the case for decades. Wfh won’t change that much - unless the company’s IT Is very behind the curve! |

I love working from home. Some days I'll get a little lonely if my husband is out at work so if I need to send an email to a colleague I'd usually ring just to hear someone's voice.
My boss checks up on me often too or even just to have a quick chat. (probably making sure I'm working!) |

"While there are some benefits from WFH I also enjoy suiting and booting and getting into the office.
"
That’s another thing that’s changed. Much more casual now on the days people are back in the office. Local charity shops don’t even want the suits! (Mr). |

Just for research purposes, I’m assuming it would be across the length of the keyboard but which end would you start from? |

I have the perfect balance.. spend the mornings out travelling to appointments but usually back home by 2pm don’t often leave in the morning until 9-10am.
Then I upload all the data from the appointments when it suits in the afternoon or evening.
Love my job & the flexibility to manage my own time. |

This pretty much my experience too. The chats with random colleagues are one of the few things of office life that I miss. |
