Talk me through your Xmas day.

No idea this year.
Usually take the kids to their cousins and meet my parents the day after.
But my mum passed away a few weeks ago, so that's changed things a little as I don't want my Dad to be alone.
Got some planning and arranging to do I think. |

My Christmas Day will be in January this time around! Xmas music on ready for when the kids come down, then the obligatory Xmas brecky before the kids and dogs open some presents! Dinner at about 6! Official Christmas Day will be quiet this year  Miss pc |

I’ll be up early to head to the kids dads house so we can do Christmas morning all together, all back to my house for Christmas dinner and then the kids will stay with me so lots of junk food, movies, swearing at toys I can’t figure out, wandering around with a bin bag picking bits up, trying not to step on small breakable toys. No doubt will be heading back to dads because someone left something behind at some point  |

I can describe what it used to be. Not sure what it will be like now as I've had a gastric bypass and it will be less food oriented!
Get up, open presents while having brioche/croissants with coffee.
Go to my dad's church as the dutiful good Christian vicars daughter.
Visit my grandparents-in-law to see husband's family.
Then Christmas food with either husband's or my mums. Both have very set Christmas dinners, neither one can be changed or tampered with. Both involve copious champagne and wine!
Then watching cheesy TV while nibbling cheese and biscuits till I fall asleep. |

Have breakfast,exchange presents with the family in my parents house,leave early to work in a charity kitchen to help feed old folk and homeless people for a few hours.Deliver some hot meals to those housebound on the way home for my own dinner and a few beers hopefully

This year my youngest will be at his father's for Xmas eve and Xmas day, so we will have our Christmas lunch on boxing day.
Myself and my boyfriend will just treat Xmas day as we would any other day off and will probably go out for a trail run. And we look forward to seeing the kids in the evening.

It will be hectic this year with 3 babies.
I'll make a cup of tea and help with feeds while my daughter deals with the gifts.
Turkey will be cooked the night before and lamb will go in as soon as I get up.
Between the two of us we'll manage the cooking and babies until everyone else turns up to help.

Wake up around 8am with hangover, prep and cook a nice hearty breakfast with a fresh cup of roast coffee
Once breakfast eaten FaceTime kids if they’re doing their own thing and have a laugh deciding what’s games we’re going to play, online or board, while dinner is cooking 
Once dinner is eaten with a glass of champagne, tidy up and crack open a bottle of booze or can then settle with a movie or music and more games
Then bed very full and slightly intoxicated for some well needed rest before Boxing Day, my preferred day of the season, shenanigans  |

Watch Love Actually and wonder how come bridget jones isn’t in it - watch Bridget Jones and then think this isn’t as funny as I remember and where’s Julia Roberts?? - look on skype at the top 10% of my mums head while screaming I can’t see you - and never mind where the camera is it’s too high. Drink too much wine then hopefully shovel some snow onto carollers which isnt as much fun now im in a bungalow. The rest is unplanned |

Should finish work at 2am (unlikely) then sleep for a few hours. Get up, sort animals out, might manage a hack out on the horse before Christmas lunch with my parents then a few hours sleep before a night shift. Got night shifts both Christmas Day and Boxing Day so don’t doubt one will be manic and one will be tame.... Think we are having a party buffet one night and curry the other  |

Honestly have no idea this year. My old dear had a stroke so probably won’t want company she finds it overwhelming. So probably be a quiet one. 2 days later it’s my birthday so probably make more fuss for that given that it’s my 30th. |

I’ve got the kids Xmas eve & Xmas morning so we will open presents & have a lovely breakfast before they go to their Dads.
I turned down the invitation to go to my brothers with my Mum & Dad for Xmas lunch. I’m looking forward to having a chilled day with some fizz & a posh ready meal.
Then kids are back with me Boxing Day & I’m cooking Xmas dinner then for 8. |

Christmas eve at my mums for presents - scandinavian Christmas.
Christmas day just the 4 of us at ours to open presents then we pop to husbands mums house to see them.
Back home to cook the Christmas dinner and help the kids with their toys and games. Try and get everything organised by the evening so me and other half can enjoy a cuddle on the sofa and watch a movie. |

This will be my first ever Christmas Day on my own so I’m not really sure.
Assuming nothing changes between now and then I’m going wild swimming for sunrise then on a 30 mile bike ride followed by a hike to the top of a hill for sunset.
I’ll come home and have a rack of lamb and be glad it’s all over |

If there's leftovers work will plate me a dinner up.

Lay in bath for an hour or two.
Walk on the beach with Mrs and daughter and her partner.
Go to son's house have massive present opening sesh with grandkids and rest of them.
Eat, fall asleep in chair.
Feel bloated probably have another dump.
Crack open the cheese board and scotch play some games.
Then the four of us walk back to ours late night taking in the harbour view.
Then have a food baby and indigestion tablet's go to bed suggest to Mrs about having sex but neither one of us can be arsed to move fall asleep and probably wake up around 4am busting for another dump.

Having experienced so much loss this year, I am really dreading it. I am not working so that option is out. I might, if not too late volunteer. I haven't done this for ages and a mate and his missus help out homeless charities every year. |

This year....
Arrive home from work at 8.30. Have a coffee and maybe a yogurt. Walk dog then go to bed until 4. Open presents when I wake up, make some phone calls and have a sandwich or toast. Walk dog again, have a bath then back out to work. |

I'll be cooking for the family, my dad and brother will come for lunch. Dad will be hungry but not really eat much.
After we have eaten my dad will then change all the settings on the television and turn it up so load I end up leaving the room.
Our dog will be super excited we have guest and try and sit on them. |

As a mum of 3 kids, once the kids have opened their gifts, i've tidied up and got dinner in the oven I could sleep for a week. So many months of prep, planning, story telling, wrapping, decorating, cleaning and trying to keep the magic alive is exhausting. Looking forwars to when i'm old enough tk start drink8ng port ar 10 whilst everyone else does the work  (I will 100% keeping the magic alive for the little ones though) |

The kids will wake me up, go downstairs and open their presents. Cook breakfast, then they’ll be off to their bedrooms to play whatever new game they’ve had.
Get my daughter to help with dinner, eat, then they’re off to their rooms again. So an afternoon of watching tv, then I’ll have to do tea. Then they will be back in their rooms. Just a normal ish day with more food x |

Get woken up at the arse crack of dawn by a child who is already crying because they have lost a piece to a shitty plastic toy in their stocking …. There is slime in their hair
Drink 3 cups of coffee whilst watching small people rip through hundreds of pounds worth of toys in 3.3 milliseconds , break up 6 fights before 10am and have cancelled the whole day and called Santa back 13 times
Hide in the kitchen drinking gin and eating food as I cook.
Sit down to dinner and can’t eat it (see above )
Okay board games whilst retrieving Barbie shoes from the dogs mouth
Eat chocolate in front of the TV proclaiming that I will never celebrate Christmas again.

Wake up and shower, then it’s smoked salmon and scrambled eggs on an English muffin.
Prepare the diner sort me stuffing out
FaceTime my eldest and his wife in Canada once they are awake then begin cooking as I have my youngest, his wife and my little grandson over this year, they take it in turns between me and his MIL
Once they have gone it’s get the plonk out, some stinky cheese, grapes and crackers, turn on a crap film that will probably make me cry at some point and then it’s bed  |

So this year I’ll be home alone Christmas Eve. Christmas morning I’ll sort kids presents then to my parents for dinner and then pick my kids up around 3.30pm |

The children (all adults) wake us up with a coffee no earlier than 8 am. We sit around opening presents and eating chocolates. Drink a glass or two/three of bucks fizz. Then prepare the dinner. Mr NC cooks it to perfection. Once washing up is done we'll chill until its time to visit family for more food and drink |

First Christmas with a newborn so not sure how it will all pan out.
My previous Christmas days are usually me up early to put the Turkey in. Then we have mimosas while opening gifts. A bit more food prep then get dressed. We would usually visit my Nan in the care home but she died in April. So then we would have dinner around 1. 3pm the queens speech followed by desert that we waited for. Then play family games for a few hours. Put a spread out on the table about 7pm and watch Christmas tv.

It’s my mums turn to have my sister this year, she alternates between mum and her dad (she’s nearly 27 mind!). My sister will stay down my mums Xmas eve, me and my daughter here. I’ll get up about 6 and fuss with my cracking and the rest of the meats. Will put Xmas bangers on the music channels, lights on the tree. Have a coffee. Put wrapping paper over the living room door cos my daughter likes to burst through it. My sister and mum will come up and then I’ll wake my daughter up. She’s a lazy bones even on Xmas day! Then we all watch her open her stocking in her room then watch her go down and start on the downstairs presents.
Hoping to have a kitten this year which will be a gift. Haven’t really thought this part out yet and how to keep it a secret till Xmas day. Few breeders have said they’ll keep the kitten till Xmas eve. I need to have a good think and plan this. |

Nice reading about everyone’s different take on Xmas day. Funny how we all have our own little Xmas day traditions.
We’ve spent every Xmas for 13 years abroad somewhere hot. For us, Xmas is about jumping on a plane and escaping the cold and it’s the longest holiday we manage to squeeze in each year due to our work schedules, always take 4/5 weeks to relax and unwind after the busy previous year

Presents will be done by about 830am
Breakfast of pancakes.
Make the Xmas dinner.
To be honest aside from the gifts its much like any other day and while I'm very lucky to have my sons I will still find it pretty lonely that it's year 13 of just me. |

13 for me too although my daughter was only 2 months old Xmas 2009. Think this is one of the first Christmases where I’m actually excited and happy and no guy drama at the back of my mind.
Every guy that contacts me I’ve been like nah it’s too close to Xmas mate not having anyone dragging down my vibe!
Just absorb your boys energy, don’t think about being lonely cos you’ll send out signals that you want more loneliness.

My family are coming to me this year and my mum is staying over since it will be 1st Christmas without my Dad.
Mum will help me prep xmas lunch, everyone will arrive for around 11 and we will nip to the pub for a couple. Lunch is served around 1pm and we open our presents after lunch. It makes the day last longer otherwise It’s all over and done in a flash. |

I'm super excited. I'm cooking, my daughter, her partner and my lovely grandchildren are coming as usual. I won't be drinking alcohol whilst they are here. Her brilliant partner has been 2yrs drink & drug free. Both dogs will be running riot ! |

Not exactly. We have traditionally had stockings upstairs in our bed, then they can choose one present under the tree before breakfast. Then breakfast and tidy up but then it's pretty much a free for all till lunchtime. Lots of stopping to build stuff, usually. Our son always wanted Lego and stuff.
This year might well be very different because we're thinking about going abroad to the middle of nowhere! |

Get up when the prince that is our cat decides it's time, tea/coffee, unwrap gifts. Get ready to play Father Christmas and Mrs Christmas where I work, go in for a couple of hours to bring Christmas cheer, hopefully get a Christmas dinner while there!
After that veg out on cheese and wait for rubbish TV to start
