Being called cute, sweet, etc.

It’s not always meant in a friend zone way. Sometimes you are cute or sweet etc.

Every guy I’ve met has always hated that. Weird.

That's how you speak to small and wimpy women and children, not big and burly men

In all seriousness, lots of guys will take it as you being cheeky because it's not how they're used to being spoken to. Some really will have such fragile egos that they can't handle it though.

Not how men , I'll say traditionally, might have changed now, want to be perceived.

Can you imagine Dirty Harry being called cute and sweet.

I hate being called cute/ sweet. That isn't the language I'd use when I'm talking to someone with a view to getting sexy. I guess that's why they wouldn't like it.

"A baby is cute. A puppy is cute.

In many circles the obvious compliment is over used, and the lesser ones are often the ones with most impact. In motor racing they are all fast, but when one does something amazing the compliment for those in the know isn’t that they were fucking fast, it’s downgraded to being quick. That’s the ultimate compliment. They’re expected to be fast. Likewise if it’s obvious you’re sexy, adding additional qualifying superlatives is pointless, we know you’re sexy and that’s cute.

Beauty and cuteness is in the eyes of the beholder, so it's fine to share what you perceive. Some men have been pushed too much to portray a 1 dimensional 'man', that's got limited emotional depth.

Shouldn’t you not assume that I am thinking I’m entitled. You shouldn’t make assumptions , assume makes an ass out of you and me …

I was having a conversation with a male friend and I said aww you’re cute and he implied he hates when woman say that and it sparked curiosity in me as to why!?

I dont think I'd dislike that its always nice to receive a compliment.

If we already had an existing relationship the context of it would also be clear enough and the look on your face as you said it

Haha I love calling someone I’m close to a dickhead or other terms of endearment. If I insult you I like you. I sent my ex a birthday card saying happy birthday to my favourite dickhead.

It’s a great word

I like that too. Haha, dickhead.

I don't mind being called sweet or cute (yes it has happened before) but I don't like it when people say I'm nice. But that's because of other stuff I think.

I don't care. Tho will play like I'm offended.

I get the impression that men believe gals don't fuck cute. I'm sure some do, and some don't.

I suspect this comes from some guys not holding a sexual frame and get called called cute. So cute = unsexyal = friendzone.

But I'm cute as a button but also a deviant... All part of the disguise.

"Being called cute, sweet, etc.

Imo I think it's not a very masculine thing to be called. If you see a guy a say to yourself "phwoar! He is fit! He is sexy af!" or something similar. Tell a guy that and it's makes them feel sexier. Calling a guy cute, it's something your mother, grandmother or auntie calls you lol

Reply privately, Reply in forum +quote or View forums list

By *ocothumpaMan  over a year ago

quite close to you

Some guys like it/don’t mind

Some guys hate it

I think there are two different meanings to the word ‘cute’ and how it’s used:

“Awww you’re cute” translates to “You remind me of my baby brother/puppy/child…awww I see you as a sexless friend”

“X is cute” translates as “X is good-looking/sexy…let’s see how this goes”

For me calling me cute is akin to calling something ‘nice’ - I’m not offended but it’s a Luke-warm compliment that just sounds like you don’t want to offend but you’re keeping it standard and safe.

Affectionate insults are much better in my mind.
