I have very little tolerance for things that encroach on my boundaries or values. I’m way too old to be putting up with stuff anymore that I don’t need to |

You should only tolerate things you have no right to interfere with. Everything else you should either seek to accept, or change.
Easier said than done - in practice, you may have to tolerate something until you have the strength/resources/energy to devote to changing it. In its own way, intentionally deciding that you want to change something, but can't yet, is a form of (temporary) acceptance.
But ultimately you will probably grow to resent tolerating something over the medium term. |
