In the past been told I snore & grind my teeth.
They didn't get much sleep.
Went to the dentist & he reckoned he patented a device that stops you from snoring. I asked him how much it cost & he said £700 odd.....
I asked him did it marry me & turn into a pizza & was it gold plated?
He took it it in good gest. |

If you're having to move to another room then there is a problem
Perhaps a gentle discussion & a referral to the local lung function is needed to find the cause
Snoring is not half as funny as people make it out to be |

Yes she does...and talks and grinds her teeth. Occasionally she sits bolt upright with a sort of shocked gasp that scares me to death and she also has sexsomnia so our bedtimes are many and varied. |

Her ladyship doesn't very often but when she does she will wake herself up and apologise - she does this when she farts too (oops, I mean fluffs because that's much more ladylike)
My mates say I snore terribly, both her ladyship and my ex say that all they need to do is give me a gentle nudge and I stop so the solution appears to be to share a bed with me.

I do snore if I get really exhausted, and the more knackered I am the worse I snore.
If I'm spending a night with someone I try to make sure I've had a good sleep the night before so I don't deafen them.
I've had partners who have snored but it has rarely bothered me too much. I had one partner who had night terrors and that was completely different, there was no sleeping through that and we ended up sleeping apart. |

"I do. Badly. But I have sleep apnoea. As long as I use my CPAP machine I’m fine
J x"
I was just going to say that loud snoring / gasping is quite likely to be sleep apnoea and all the people commenting that they or their partner do this really should get referred to a Sleep Clinic pronto. I have sleep apnoea and my cpap machine saved my life, quite literally. |

May I ask which sleep clinic you went to? Was it a private one or NHS? I want to investigate getting a CPAP machine. Thanks. |

I can snore very loudly and have tried different things but the best thing by far is magnetic anti snoring nose clips.
My girl friend says it is much better.
They cost about £6 at the most online and can come in different sizes. Fairly comfortable to wear.
May not work for everyone its fair to say as snoring can be happening for a number of reasons but worth ago. |

All local trusts will have a sleep clinic/unit, sleep apnoea is a very common issue. A GP trip is all you need to get referred in but the wait lists can be long. |

Snoring can be a sign of a serious medical issue. It’s not always a laughing issue or something a dig in the ribs can fix. It could be sleep apnea which can kill. If it’s stopping you sleeping maybe have a chat with your partner about getting a sleep study done they might need a non invasive ventilator called Cpap to help them breathe and stop the episodes of apnea, especially if they use lots of pillows, have episodes of going quiet between snores, are sleepy in the daytime, overweight or have a large neck circumference.

Everyone I have spent the night with snores.
Mostly it's just a light snoring is is quite cute, but there was one person (not on this site) that sounded really badly and I ended up moving to the sofa to sleep. |

I was referred by my GP to an ENT specialist as I had nasal issues as a child. I also have a narrow windpipe so mine isn’t weight related & there are 2 types of SA.
I was falling asleep at work & possibly whilst driving too. I was the worst case our hospital had ever seen & literally getting no sleep at all. The difference it has made to my life is unbelievable. The only issue is I can only drive short distances & no more than an hour really as I get tired. If you have Obstructed Sleep Apnoea then it should be reported to DVLA too - so for anyone thinking they have SA be aware

"Yeah, I snore. I was banished to the sofa four years ago because of it.
That's not very nice."
Haha, it’s absolutely nowhere near as bad as it sounds….pretty practical, too.
I always get up earlier so it avoids waking my wife up. She’s almost always freezing except in the height of summer (27 duvets and the thermostat set to ‘Core Of The Sun’), I’m always too warm somewhere, usually my feet. Plus no-one gets disturbed by fidgeting. |
