Can you remember the first Album you ever bought ?

Now I’m not entirely sure… it’s a toss between

Regatta de Blanc - The Police

Off the Wall - Michael Jackson

September Morn - Neil Diamond ( purely to alleviate my step dad’s ill temper )

Perhaps I bought all 3 at once ?

Hefty Hideaway

It definitely wasn’t cool.

Diagonally Parked in a Parallel Universe

It was either A Night At The Opera, by Queen, or In Rock, by Deep Purple. I was 12.

This is a tough one, for two reasons;

1) many of my early albums were presents not purchases, and it's so far back I can't remember which was which, and

2) much of my musical taste was (and probably still is) shameful, do I want to remember, let alone share!!

I 'think' it was, Phil Collins "No Jacket Required"

I think it was, A Kiss In The Dream House by Siouxsie and The Banshees, as I remember seeing them on that tour. Most of my other albums/cassettes would have been presents.

I owned Regatta De Blanc too.

It was a compilation called new wave.. had runaways..damned..new York dolls.. boomtown rats..etc..I think it would have been very late 77 or early 78....got rid of it ages ago..as had most of tracks..but bought it again a while back.. purely for nostalgic reasons.. funnily enough paying not a lot more than I did for it originally..

Gosh, mine was back in '79 when I was 10.

Got them for my birthday but I wasn't allowed to use our Sony Music Center without parental supervision...

I got three albums.

Ultravox - Systems Of Romance

Tubeway Army - Replicas

Kraftwerk - Man Machine

The Ultravox album is still a firm fave spinner.

Loved the albums for their Sci-fi themes being a sci-fi nut.
