It’s on the Internet, it must be true right?

Have you heard where the name ‘Honeymoon’ comes from? - back in the olden days (horrible histories - medieval old ) a couple when they got married was given a pot of honey, it was a gift. And when the pot was finally finished and empty, (approx a month) the ‘honeymoon’ was over.

However, as I make wine and sh*t, when making mead (a honey wine) I researched its origins and discovered there is no significant recorded evidence of this honeymoon story. It seems to have been fabricated throughout the years and with the power of the internet sharing it has become a story that people now believe.

Have you fact checked something that people try to tell you is true to find out you can’t prove the fact?

Let’s get myth bustin’

Torn between these two:

1. The origins of the V sign (opposite of the peace ??? version) originated when French archers would do it to show they still had their fingers (which would be removed if they were caught/captured). This is balls because you need three fingers to shoot a bow, 2 above, but also one below to stop the string pinching the arrow. MYTH

2. People who chat with me automatically feel 12% sexier, 3% firmer and many report reduced hair loss in the shower - who knew? Limited unscientific research shows this is TRUE

Fuck is an acronym of "forced unlawful carnal knowledge", when police arrested someone for sexual assault, then would write fuck as an abbreviation of the charge.

Complete bollocks, like most profane words, it's actually incredibly old, and dates back to around the 14th century, probably of germanic origin.

What is true is that "tits" is one of the oldest words still in use today, and it's meaning hasn't changed (Bill Bryson said so, so it must be true)

It was said to be the English longbowmen but it is true there was no evidence to support this.
