Being a pet owner, I no longer get to enjoy bonfires or fireworks
My entire evenings this weekend will be spent offering re-assurance and cuddles to the pooch
We were in bed 8 last night, blinds closed, Classic FM on, barricaded in under our duvet fort  |

For those in a similar position, Classic FM are playing music soothing to pets from 6pm-10pm tonight and tomorrow
It may sound a daft idea, but it does work for my lad |

We went to a low noise firework display last week.
It was much better. They had music synchronised with the disay which was good too.
There were quite a few pets there as well and none of them were perturbed by any of it. |

Not having any as never have and always thought an organised display much better.
I've 4 cats here so will be hanging out with them making sure they are ok.
Pet remedy spray is our go to. |

Luckily my horses are not phased with them (joys of having lived on Salisbury Plain for years!), dogs are working gundogs so used to me blatting off shotguns and rifles and the cats couldnt give a monkeys, as long as i don't go near my chair they seem to have taken ownership of! Me....I suffer with awful PTSD,(panic at sudden noise and lights) but am actually going to a display, armed with a set of ear defenders and a 6ft4 bodyguard! Never too old to get ver my fears and face, hopefully, a brightwr experience that will only get better the more I put my brave pants on! If not....there's always the hip flask of brandy to help out!  |

I never used to moan about it
I wouldn't now if displays were organised, fireworks were on limited sale to registered organisers and were kept below a certain decibel level
It's the ease of purchase that is the issue, along with the noise some make, purely for the sake of making noise
I mean 'air bombs' they aren't even pretty, they just make a fkin racket which scares the bejesus out of critters and folks with a nervy disposition
Fireworks should be pretty, not noisy  |
