Do you put the heating on? Her ladyship beats me up if I try in this house but she's gone out so I'm in charge. Clicked on at 12°C. I'm fairly sure this is an infringement of my human rights.

"12 degrees? Did the polar bears shivering accidentally switch it on? "
It's a bit warmer upstairs where I am. She had the cheek earlier to try and warm her hands under my top

"Good lord.. you poor thing my house is like an oven. I bloody love being toasty warm and my dogs are soft and shiver if it’s not lovely and warm. "
She's gonna come home and read this and be mortified that you now all know how cruel she is

I do this too "

I have mine on quite high, it goes on early, I feel the cold easy. My house is the kind of house men would liken to a greehouse and any exertion will have them breaking out in a sweaty mess.
However women will love it and not want to leave. Unless of course they are menopausal and need icy gales blowing through. |

"12 degrees? Is your house insulated?"
Fairly new house, decent loft insulation. No idea about the walls. They were gritting the roads round here last night and the only sources of heat in here are 3 people and 3 computers today. |

"What time is the missus due back? I wanna know the repercussions. "
I don't know but she's late. We have the rest of a lovely shepherds pie she cooked yesterday for tea and apparently she's picking up some fresh veggies to go with it. If she doesn't get here soon I'll be eating the shepherd's pie and she can have broccoli for tea

She's probably been alerted to the rise in temperature via an app on her phone and is currently meeting with a divorce lawyer. |

She's got to convince me to marry her before she can divorce me. Once bitten, twice shy and all that

"Shouldn't be under 16 according to environmental health. "
In the workplace, I think I can remember being told you can refuse to work if the temperature is below 16. My house drops down to 12 during the coldest months. But there was barely any insulation in the loft and we lose loads of heat via the utility room and bathroom extension. |

I let the kids have 16° in the day when Im not here. We can have 20 if we are goin for a shower other than that if the fire is on back down to 16 it goes and you can sit in the room with the fire or shiver elsewhere My downstairs is a little frigid though, it is full of holes. Upstairs is cosier. |

I always remember I had a Schoolfriend who invited me round to dinner once. We sat in her front room on a winters day and you could see your breath in front of you it was that cold. I was shocked!!
I’ve never taken my heating for granted after that. |

My downstairs is like that in the really cold months. I could have the thermostat on max and it'd never shut off. |

I told her that she had a thread dedicated to the abuse I get but she was hungry so sat straight down to eat the dinner I'd lovingly prepared - well, reheated and added a few frozen veg to because I couldn't wait anymore for the dirty stop out to return with fresh. She read the thread and sat there in stony faced silence. I had to do the whole "are you pissed off routine" before she simply said "I'm not going to give you the satisfaction of a response"
Now I see she has snuck on here when I wasn't looking. Honestly she's hard work

I prefer cooler temperatures but have had the heating on half a dozen times or so, this autumn. It probably gets to 15 °C before I turn it on - I don't have it on an automatic start programme, so I can do it to suit me at the time.
It's a benefit of living alone, to get the heating just right for me |

It's currently 0°C here and our central heating is definitely ON. We keep it a reasonably constant 18-19°C although during the day, it's only set to come on at 16°C. We put a jumper on when WFH rather than turning up the heating. |

My bathrooms the same, single story single skin extension out the back, I've got rockery plants growing on the flat roof, and reflective sheet behind the radiator.x |

"Around 14/15 but off when it reaches 19. I don't like it too warm especially in the bedroom. That should be the coolest room. Can't sleep if it's too warm"
