Both are brilliant actors I don't understand the need for comparison. Very few of us would have seen all their films and stage work to make a comparison. In terms of action I love Burton in Where Eagles Dare, and Hopkins in When Eight Bells Toll.
Although Brian Cox's Lecter is brilliant, in my view Hopkins'performance reflects the Lecter in the books.
Yesterday I watched a Sky TV programme on Elizabeth Taylor, that showed not only was she was stunning but also a great actress. Diana Dors was fine looking in her day but her acting career was not comparable. |
