I was a massive fan of The Jam, seeing them a zillion times from 1977 to their split in 1982. Think I might be disappointed by going to see this gig with only 1/3 of the original members?
In truth, I’m mainly going to see the support act - The Selecter. Pauline Black & co were much underrated in their time (though I think there are only 2 remaining members in that band too).
Can’t bear ‘tribute acts’ - think I might be disappointed? |

Seen from the jam a few different times. They were decent! Just have to go in thinking it’s not a tribute act and it’s not the jam. It’s just A good band playing songs you know. |

I’ve got two tickets for Leeds the 27 November to see the jam and select booked it then I realised I can’t go because last year I book to see the Dualers and it got cancelled because of Covid and they’ve rearranged it for the same night in Sheffield so I can’t go to Leeds them in Leeds won’t give me my money back as it’s not a good enough excuse to cancel as I’ve paid £74 i’m willing to sell for 50 |

I kept a wasp as a pet once. It flew into the jar of hartleys I had open on the table.
I decided to call him Paul Weller. Not because he was "in The Jam" but because he had one of those sticky up haircuts with pointy bits that come down the sides and a parka on. |

Having seen them both I'd be more excited about The Selector. I saw From the Jam earlier in the year and thought they'd just do the bangers. I was never a massive Jam fan - preferred PW's solo stuff - and they played a load of stuff I wasn't familiar with. |

How can they call it The Jam with only one member, even if that is Paul Welker. That's not The Jam. That Paul Welker with a couple of other guys.
Or maybe it's not Paul Weller, in which case it's even worse. |

I was the same. In 2 minds about seeing from the jam. But went to see them and just loved it. It was a bit of a journey back in time... Huge mosh pit but amazed how many youngsters were there going crazy.
I'd see them again in a heartbeat. |

I think you're missing the point. This is how these musicians make a living and if they had success years ago, why not go out and perform in front of fans that may not have been able to see them in their prime?
I love seeing the old punk and rock bands. Keeps the venues open and people enjoy enjoy it. The Butlins weekends for example are great fun. |

"I’ve seen Paul Weller a few times and can count on 1 hand the number of The Jam songs he played. Slightly disappointing the first time you see him. "
I'm a massive weller fan, he's a brilliant song writer, saw the jam a lot and seen weller about 10 times... Been disappointed everytime. The last time I vowed not to waste my money again.
Conversely Foxton and from the jam were bloody brilliant. |

"Ah well, I’ll find out tonight.... anyone else going?
How was it?"
The Selecter were fantastic, Pauline Black looks great and is still an awesome entertainer.
From The Jam were a tired shadow of what The Jam used to be, no stage presence at all, soulless, sadly. |
