Ooh so annoyed! Been sniped 3 times today on eBay, all on winter boots for my little one. It's obviously people using the sniper app as its been in the last few seconds and always no more than about 50p! Grrrr! |

It's only 50p or so because that is the next increment. There is no way to know how much higher they would be willing to bid.
I actually like using a sniper because I don't get caught up in bidding wars and end up bidding more than I intend to. I decide at the beginning how much I am willing to pay, set the sniper and forget about it until the auction is over. If I was the one willing to pay most, I win, otherwise, I don't. |

"whats a sniper app?"
You tell it the maximum you are willing to pay and it automatically bids in the last few seconds of the auction for you.
I use AuctionSniper. |
