Reasons for hiding

I'm sure you have your reasons and the mass amounts of messages from single blokes like me will help, but what are your other reasons for hiding? Surely it defeats the point of fab when you can just block those your not interested in, or is it a case of wanting to watch and not be seen... |

I hide my profile lots...sometimes because of too many msgs, hiding gives me a chance to read some mail, other reason is if I'm not going to be online here for a few days...I'll hide my profile for that reason also |

I just wondered as can understand wanting to take a break and not be active but it's odd the number of people that are active in the forum's but are hiding from someone!! |

Not necessarily hiding from ‘someone’, just general not being seen I think. |

The answers are all here. People all use the site differently. If I hide, I'm not hiding from someone - I'm hiding from the site. |

Sometimes I want to post lots of pictures, chat all night and meet to my heart's content...and sometimes I just want to float about the forum on my own, talking rubbish. |

Surely you answered your own question right there? You, me, or anyone else doesn't need to know the reason why.
Hiding your profile is like setting your out of office on your emails at work. |

I don't understand how it defeats the point a fab that you can just block people your not interested in interacted with. I don't have to interact with anybody I don't want to on fab or otherwise. |

Sometimes I'm just not feeling it, so it gives me space to observe, but not feel i have to interact
It also stops me from deleting my account, which is an urge that occurs more and more frequently
And of course unwanted attention

Because it gives me a break from hitting the block button (even with my filters on) that's mostly what I do due to idiots, the alternative is block all guys from mailing me. |

Sometimes it's a mental health issue.
I can convince myself that we are not getting attention because I have hidden our profile rather than no one is interested.
Or I can hide my profile so we don't get attention that I cannot return.
There are so many people I want to sit down and have a coffee with but I can't. Because i live in the arsehole of no where and I don't have money and I can't get to the local shops without my kids wanting to accompany us let alone the UK or Dublin. |

I'll hide to clear my inbox, when I'm feeling down or unwell, when I'm not looking to meet in the foreseeable because life is busy or I'm just too content, or when other things in life hold my attention and fab is just not interesting me. |

My profile has been hidden for a while . Simple reason being , I heard my son and his mates talking about someone in their circle having a fab profile , didn’t want them accidentally stumbling across mine ! I don’t use fab much anymore anyway so never got round to unhiding though . |

I did it for a bit at the start of the year when I lost a bit of my mojo and just felt so desensitised to everything on Fab. I also did it once when someone on the forums really got to me but felt back to myself a few days later. Sometimes you just need a break from it all to miss it again. |

Some people can be deliberately cruel. Some people cause damage without meaning too. Some people are tiresome. Some people are rude. Some people don’t know when to quit. Sometimes hiding is the easiest way to deal with things. And really, it’s only Fab. Hiding your profile isn’t like ducking out of actual life. |
