My favourite fork

Yes, you’ve read that correctly. In spite of this being an absolute shaggers paradise, I am talking about my favourite fork. In my house there is 1 fork that is not like the rest. The others are all straightforward forks. Plain handle that forks out into 4 prongs at the end. Some of them are a bit weightier than others but none of them sit in my hand as well as my favourite. It’s heavy but not so much so that it hurts my fingers. It’s not even a particularly special fork. I’ve seen the set it’s from in loads of places. Loads of you probably have the same cutlery set in your homes. It’s got a curved handle that splays out at the end and 4 fairly long prongs. I’ve no idea where the hell it came from (almost certainly stolen from a restaurant) but I’ve had it through my last 6 house moves. And these are moves that have seen me lose loads of CDs and even a PS3. Has anyone else got a piece of cutlery or even crockery that for some inexplicable reason, they are more attached to than any other on the household?

I know what you mean, I still eat with my baby spoon.. my hands haven't grown since then so I'm like a borrower holding a normal side spoon. #spoonstheone

All my forks are from the same set, heavy handled and just nice.

I do have a favourite teaspoon though, the teaspoons from my cutlery set aren't right for tea stirring, the spoon bit is too wide. But the spoon I like is just right

Was having a moment of reflection. Trouble is my memory is so piss poor that I struggled to remember anything so just thought about my fork

This is AMAZING!! I Have the exact opposite problem. My hands are massive and my fingers are like dicks. I need something with a bit about it to shovel food into my mouth

Do you know where you got the elite spoon? I’ve genuinely no idea where my great fork came from!

How long have you had the other ones you hate? Long enough to have just binned them off and got new ones? I’m normally with you on the matching stuff but there’s something about having a good one that’s different from the rest

Same. Think I’ve bought 3/4 different sets over the years. Some cheap, some not.

I seem to have lots of big spoons and knives.. But not many forks and little spoons.

Mad isn’t it? I’ve definitely got more forks than anything else. No idea why. They exclusively stay down stairs and only ever in two rooms

All teaspoons are not the same. Different sizes are no good when it comes to making the perfect coffee!

There's a particular spoon I use for making coffee. It holds just the right amount for my perfect strength beverage. If I use any other spoon it's not right and that's just not acceptable.

My favourite coffee mug and special spoon have their own little space in my kitchen cupboard.

Thank you! Was worried for a brief second that I was going to come across both boring and weird. Seems to be more relatable than I thought! Don’t know about you but I actively seek my fork out rather than use a shit one

This is what I am talking about. Such a small thing that really improves your life 10 fold. Very pleased to hear you’ve got a special place for both with easy access

In a world filled with uncertainty it's conforming to know that my coffee will be just right every time.

Ha!

Many many years ago when I was just a lad and able to run around a football pitch I had a knife I used to clean my football boots with (yep I know this about forks!). That’s the only time I used it, apart from the time when the relationship started to go South, then I used to set the table with it so that her Mum used it for Sunday Lunch!

I know I’ll be heading for purgatory but it still makes me smile.
