I do love seeing holdups more than stockings. Something that is very visually appealing to me and I’m not an overly visual person.
Maybe it’s the framing they create?! I’m not sure |

I like both.
Hold ups are really convenient at times and so long as they fit well they stay up fine.
Stockings with a suspender belt or waspie are lovely to wear and always make me feel a bit more confident but they can be a pain to do up at times |

Lay the stockings out on the bed and attach them to the belt. Then pull them on like tights.
Easier than trying to bend double and attach the back ones while hopping about. |

From a fat womans point of view snag make a fab pair of stockings attached to suspender belt combo, super comfy and they don't fall down, they are my weapon of choice |

"What's best to wear under a dress and what's the best for holding them up? xT "
Stockings with suspenders,
Holdups will be a tighter fit round the thigh usually and squeeze creating a bulge above and making the thigh look fatter than it actually is. Stockings are less likely to do it.
You can of course wear holdups with suspenders but the thicker tops are more of a faff to do up.
Stockings and suspenders are sexier in my opinion but a guy generally likes easy access so hold ups might be more than enough. |

I like the look of fully fashioned stockings. Made from silk they give the area where they gather a slightly different look (slightly wrinkled) which in my mind makes them look very elegant and classic. Most often they are 10 or 15 denier which feels and looks slightly thinner.
What does make a bigger difference in appeal (for me anyway, I’ve always been into nylon) is the style of reinforcement. I adore seeing a pair of sandal toe nylons because I love feet. Some stockings have so many reinforcements that they look more like socks. I love to see soles, thinner stockings show skin colour much clearer too, which is hot.
Also the welt can be pulled taught to give them more shape and different colour texture when the suspenders clasp is done up a little lower. Once I saw the most amazing lady wearing a set of stockings which looked really unusual. She’d taken a pair of tights and cut the legs off with a tiny bit of the thick support material. They really looked amazing as they made an almost triangular shape round the thigh!
But I’d have to agree that hold ups are way more convenient. |

"Gio stockings with a good 6 or 8 strap garter belt x "
In complete agreement here, these over hold ups every time, but sometimes wear hold ups for convenience, or on a tight fitting skirt … too much outline of the suspenders isn’t very elegant xxx
It would depend on what she / they wanted! - I wish!!

Having big fat size I find it very hard to find hold ups that stay up even with help so it's stockings and suspender belt for me every time. Red stockings I wear for someone special xx |

Use hair spray on your legs where the tacky bands sits. Sticks really well then! |
