"It might be because of something you have posted in the forums"
Exactly this. I posted something, a regular forum user then sent me a nice private message. I went to reply to them and I was blocked. Make of that what you will |

I've had similar, it's just weird.
I was looking at the forums earlier and there was a lady whose profile I wanted to check out. BLOCKED. Never spoken to her or looked at her profile previously.
Peculiar! |

People use blocks for lots of different reasons. Some use them to preclude interactions with those that they’re not interested in meeting. It’s not a personal thing, it’s just that you’re not for them.
It might be a status update that they didn’t like or a post on a thread that you made.
Just try to forget about it and focus on those that do want to interact |

Don’t let it bother you. You’ll never get the chance to meet 99.999% of people on here anyways "
Lolz, it doesn't really bother me, I just find people puzzling...... |

The majority of those on my block list are people I've never engaged with. If I see a profile that I've nothing in common with but they have inane or whiney updates I block them so my local updates are tidy and relevant. |

If you try to message them for the first time

Just click on their profile. You don’t need to send a message to find out. |

She may've beat u to it and checked yrs out 1st and thought "Nahhhh not a match". Then hit the block. U don't ave to wait till someone contacts you to block 'em. U can call it peculiar if u want but at end of day its her profile and maybe she likes to have some control over who views it.
In her defence I've done it myself n don't need to justify it. |

She could of seen your profile in search. She's blocked so as not to waste your time messaging.

I'm the same. Got to have tidy updates.
Really don't care who has me blocked. Good for them I say. I wouldn't want to associate with me either. I'm kinda fussy. |

They recognise you, they're not attracted to you, they don't agree with something you've posted on your status or on the forum. Could be any number if things and I've done all of the above before.

"How/why do I get blocked by people I've never even conversed with?
Anybody else get this?"
I see many threads from people wondering about those that exclude (for whatever reason),
I concentrate on those that include its a far more productive use of my time and energy. |

im a serial blocker ... i used to get all those abusive messages and people who would not take no as a answer and read status's that were rude racist sexist nasty .... and get lots of messages from people ive had no intention of meeting so about 8 or 9 years ago i started pre blocking as well as normal blocking guess what it works and it works very well |

Yep I block to keep my local updates relevant or if I’m looking at all updates I block those that have off putting status updates. Haven’t blocked through forums yet but I know I’ve been blocked by a couple of guys. It saves any wasting of time I think |

It means you can enjoy the site your way. I know from a username/avatar/status update that someone is not for me - it's just a shortcut. |

I block because they don't fit what im after and it stops me looking at their profile over and over again and them thinking I might be interested . Its hard to know who's profile you have looked at . Its not anything they have done |

People block for lots of reasons OP I only block those that are abusive but others block for other reasons and they are entitled to do as they wish. Worrying about things you cannot control is pointless |

People block for a verity of reasons and everybody uses the block button differently.
For some people it's the last resort and they hardly block anybody and for others it's just another filter.
I block because I know I'm not gonna meet that person, Because they are too local, Because I've had a message off them and just wasn't interested and the list goes on. |

The ones that mystify me are the ones im chatting to and having a really good conversation and getting on really well then suddenly i go to respond to a message and find they’ve blocked me. I sometimes wonder if they’ve done it by accident and are then sitting wondering why I haven’t answered their message. I guess its just ahhh well and move on. Nothing you can do |

Kind of feel this needs to be put front and centre when you sign up to alleviate some people's anxiety once they start using the site. |

I do it all the time, it saves me looking at profiles that I don't like such as 420 and chem friendly, people who make noises about big cocks or are just arseholes. That's what it's there for, blocked! |

I can’t ever see someone ‘accidentally’ blocking you, so it looks like something happened and they decided not to take it any further. But that doesn’t mean you did something wrong, it’s just an easy way to stop further conversation that’s all. |

If message someone and they ignore it or delete I block them, saves me messaging them again as I wouldn't tolerate anyone like that in real life ,
Also some people have blocks on certain ages, sexes etc so YOU may not be blocked just your description |

I went through a stage of blocking anyone who wasn't looking for single guys, bisexuals, etc but gave up in the end and unblocked then all. I have blocked a few who are either irritating, don't read my profile about not being bi, or don't respond to my nice messages as they clearly aren't the sort I want as friends. Couldn't care less who has blocked me, I probably don't even know. |

Who knows why?
I block those who ignore/delete messages, those with negative/bitter profiles or who I think aren't a match with me and would never ever meet. There is no reason to have their profiles shown to me everytime I hit browse for profiles so it helps clear up the searches and makes finding those who would be interested a little bit easier. |

I block for a number of reasons - people who use their status updates to make digs at women not replying or for abuse, people who are constantly negative etc. That little box which contains 140 characters can contain an awful lot of information about somebody. |
