*taking someone else’s quote from somewhere got me thinking how my veins have changed on this. I think being wiser has made me learn to just get to the point. Being subtle or hinting can sometimes be missed or misread. That doesn’t help anyone.
So answer me this, do you like to be a straight shooting arrow on fab or do you find yourself flirting more and being subtle, hopefully someone can read your intentions instead?

I'm subtle depending on the situation. If I'm interested in someone it's normally quite obvious in my mind, perhaps not. It's difficult to find the balance between being straight and coming off too strong, I know I get put off by people if they're too... direct. |

If we want to meet someone we'll say so.
When it comes to other areas of life I think unambiguous communication is a good thing. I don't think speaking your mind regardless of how it makes the other person feels is. |

I'm very straight shooting in my profile, yet the 'wanna fuck' messages keep on coming.
If I want to meet someone, I'll ask directly. Nothing to lose at all.
I'd LOVE to be straight shooting on the forums but either other posters or admin don't like it.
For example 'yep, there are women who love small cocks/bulls/sissies/big cocks/dad bods/ripped abs/bald/bearded/hairy/etc, doesn't mean they want to meet you though' and 'the reason you rarely get an answer is you are over 60/under 25/married/large/a smoker/entitled/rude/horrible pics/no pics/bad pics/negative attitude/too tall/too short/poor expectation/etc'
We often skirt around being painfully honest as we don't know the person behind the post and how they would react. |

"If I said what was on my mind I'd be in arguments every single day. It's better to moderate and realise people are slightly thick. "
I never meant being blunt or calling someone a c*nt when you think they are. |

Didn't mean to be blunt. |

I think subtlety is the key for pretty much all social interactions.
Employed adroitly, it allows room for manoeuvre, is genteel in its approach, is less demanding or threatening, and allows all parties "breathing space", with no one being put "on the spot".

Are you talking subtlety in general or just when 'asking someone out'?
I think subtlety is vital in a more general sense. Tread lightly on others I say. If you're after snogging someone just come out and tell them straight. Isn't that what the Oi I fancy you threads are for? |

I’m about as subtle as a brick. However, I don’t flirt so that’s not an issue. I like to think I’m pretty straight forward and I say what I think so I rarely get areas of confusion. Although I do assume everyone’s a mate until they’re blatantly not.. so it’s more reading I’m bad at. |
