Is a pie a pie if it’s only got crust on top?

Or is a pie only ever a pie if it’s fully encased in the wonder of pastry?

Well I say a pie is a pie if it’s called a pie, so fish pie, shepherds pie etc. no pastry.

Was going to say is it a tart when not fully covered but Unicorn has a fair point here
