Oooo I'd forgotten about Slither. Scott Weiland has a remarkable ability to cram a hell of a lot of sexiness into a song.

I'd probably add Stone Temple Pilots "Sex Type Thing" for similar reasons, although it feels a little problematic in a 'blurred lines' kinda way.

Chris was utterly remarkable too. Soundgarden were last on before Sabbath at Hyde Park a few years ago, he casually told the crowd they were going to perform "Superunknown" in full. Have you ever heard 65,000 people gasp in excitement all at the same time?

Stone Temple Pilots played Download as part of the touring cycle for their "comeback" album (I can't remember what it's called for the life of me. I'll have to check the CD shelf when I get home) and Scott was clearly on a LOT of dr ugs. Like, a FUCKING LOT. You could barely see his eyes when he took his sunglasses off. Still an utterly compelling performance. Standing in ankle deep mud under a baking sun while he yarled "Big Empty" with all the charisma we knew back in 1994 was a glorious experience.

"Everyone on this thread is an utter legend. I've found my people and where I belong.

My choice of tune would be Rebel in the FDG by WASP.

"

That's a fucking great song. Easily my favourite track on The Headless Children.

"I love me a bit of Audio(s)lave - Show me how to live Or Velver Revolver - Slither

It wouldn’t let me write it properly

Oooo I'd forgotten about Slither. Scott Weiland has a remarkable ability to cram a hell of a lot of sexiness into a song.

I'd probably add Stone Temple Pilots "Sex Type Thing" for similar reasons, although it feels a little problematic in a 'blurred lines' kinda way.

I was lucky enough to see Chris Cornell live, never got to see Scott. But my god, even when the man was wankered on stage and falling apart he still oozed sex appeal! And let’s not even talk about Slash, I may overheat!

Saw Soundgarden in the early 90s along with STP. First time I saw the Pilots they opened with Crackerman. Still my fave of theirs to this day."

I believe "Well Jel" is the phrase the kids today use. The Seattle scene passed me by in the 90s (I was listening to Pantera and Gangster rap, mostly) and I only really discovered everything I was missing out on a decade or so later, so there's sooooooo much that passed me by never to be repeated.

"End of night song....

"Don't you forget about me"

One of the finest cover songs ever.

LOA are an amazing band, I'm so glad that Mina and Co are still going strong and are touring later this year.

Like I said earlier far too many to choose even ten as proven so far

To the poster earlier you cannot compare Oz and wee Ronnie. Vocally Ronnie was in a different league however, the Ozman could do a full set as Ozzy and then come back out with Sabbath for another 2hr set every year on Ozzfest

A lot of what I see hear I wouldn’t consider HEAVY or METAL

As a purveyor of Scandinavian or Germanic metal a lot of the American material is very tame and almost poppy

Chris Cornell, Scott Weilland, Slash etc are guys I’ve actually met but never considered METAL

The thing is, it's all classed as metal, but different genres. For example, there's people out there that don't class a band like Chimera as metal, but they are actually heavier than Maiden.

One of the things that has passed me off for so many years is this "that's not troooooo metal" attitude, I've seen blood shed over it, and frankly it's shameful. To me we are a family wether we love Cradle or Linkin Park.

I dunno, if we're going ETID I'd probably opt for Wanderlust for a swingy rock night. It feels kinda sleazy, you know? "

Good shout. Used to hear We'rewolf quite a bit in the clubs back when, similar vibe to Wanderlust.

I was in Satan’s Hollow one night a couple of years ago and they dropped ‘Total Eclipse of the Heart’ in between HM and it got the whole place singing along!

One song? I’d have to go with FFDP ‘Under and Over it’ just for pure head banging madness!
